I was expecting it to be much larger!!! Cute town so I am glad we went.
Park employee told us that the inside of monument was built much larger than the rock today to illustrate the actual size of the original rock. Souvenir hunters with hammers and chisels took a tole.
Yup, that's the actual size of it.
It's a rock of usual size, someone carved a date into it. In all honesty, the ocean scenery around it is much more impressive than the rock
Visit to teach my daughter something and view some new sites. Price on items were not bad.
Honestly, it's not the most engaging landmark . If you come on a clear day, the view of the water is worth the trip.
It's not the real rock it's just some arbitrary rock Massachusetts Parks and Recreation Department Chose to stick in the ground It's not even the real site where they first came a ground
It's not the birthplace of freedom, but many people believe it's the spot where freedom's mom got knocked up
The view of the water is better than actually seeing the rock. Go to the cupcake shop down the street.
A piece of history at its finest.
It’s a rock, it’s not that big also it’s not even where the pilgrims landed (they first landed In Provincetown )
After being broken, dragged about the town of Plymouth by ox teams used to inspire Revolution-arie it is now at rest near the head of Plymouth Harbor .
The visible portion of Plymouth Rock is a lumpy fragment of glacial moraine about the size of a coffee table, with the date 1620 cut into its surface.
Don't expect much more than a tiny rock and someone telling you to not put your feet up on the railings.
If your anywhere near Plymouth MA you need to go to Plymouth Rock, check out the Mayflower 2, kewl stuff
So glad we stopped . Very cool piece of American history.
Cabby shack on the pier has the BEST CHOWDER EVER!!!!
The Pilgrims first landed near the site of modern Provincetown on the tip of Cape Cod in November 1620 before moving to Plymouth.

Pee on Plymouth Rock and become a true American Hero. Its a right of passage around here. Don't worry the rock doesn't mind.
Free "tour " every hour on the hour. A 10 minute talk from a docent about the rock--worthwhile.
It's only a replica rock... The authentic one is further out on Plymouth beach
There is a guide answering questions and if course a handy sign
It's a rock, and a photo op. Moving on.
The real rock is actually across the st on the lawn
It isn't worth it. It is literally just a rock and it's not even the original Plymouth Rock, they lost the real one a few years ago.
It's a cemented-together rock with 1620 carved into it. History!
Thought it would be bigger
Welcome to The Rock!

Respect the rock and the sacrifices it represents.
Underwhelming
It was so moving to be where our beautiful country began! The rock, has suffered changes, but it’s still there.
Attracts a lot of ignorant tourists .
Yup, that's the rock.... est. 1620
