Great coffee and even better service. However, my main concern is whenever Seal's smash hit Kiss From a Rose comes on, the rest of the staff changes it. And what do they have against Margaritaville?
The earlier the better, seats fill up quickly. Espresso Royale was nice, but Pavement is more modern and brighter - feels less like a basement cafe . Can't go wrong with a tequila sunrise.
The turkey avocado sandwich is amazing. Try to go before 3pm because they tend to run out of bagels and certain ingredients after that. They always have coffee and tea though!
Good music , nice customer service, excellent lox bagel sandwich . I've tried three other places' lox bagel in Boston and they do not come close.
Good amount of seating and the coffee is solid, plus it's one of the only non Starbucks in the area. Filthy with undergrads and the music is way too loud though.
Any sandwich you get will be critically enhanced by substituting the regular bread for the focaccia . Even if you just say "the dope bread " they know what you mean. Trust me.
Scones , bagel sandwiches , and cookies are all excellent. Green tea latte is delicious.
The separate coffee & tea line moves quickly! Much faster than waiting in the full menu line
The scones and the bagels will leave your mouth watering and wanting to come back for more.
Very good tea . Oolong, Hong Cha, etc. also tasty vegan sandwiches and bagel sandwiches .
Go-to spot for bagels but the coffee is overrated. Solid variety of bagels , cream cheese flavors and toppings. Yum!
Try the Spanish latte . The sunrise sandwich was very good too. Gets super crowded .
Delicious espresso . Ask your server for a pastry recommendation, too; you can't go wrong.
Ask for the cold brew coffee . It's only a 10oz pour so you may want to get 2 of them.
I am no expert when it comes to coffee but this I know:coffee here tastes SOUR.It is so acidic it sometimes tastes like they squeezed lemon in it.And this has always been the case.
If you're just ordering coffee and/or pastries , go to the registers at the front for more express service.
you can turn in your old red rewards card from erc for a free coffee ! then sign up for their new rewards system
Espresso Royals was dingy and dated in comparison to Pavement. A welcome upgrade.
They have monthly standup here on Fridays. Definitely check it out
Salami sandwich and bagel lox are my favorites.
Blue State has better chai lattes . These are not as creamy and watery. Spanish latte makes up for it.
Great place to study, but make sure they get your order right. Lots of mistakes when I come here.
Some of Boston's best coffee . Good place to get some work done.
One of the few Boston coffee shops that specialize in pour overs
Lighting in the bathroom is superb. Great for a quick confidence booster
Good coffee and vibes. The staff is friendly , but their taste is music is terrible
They've totally redone the place and it's amazing!!
Sunrise breakfast sandwich ! Delicious treat to get!
Always seems to be busy but a great study environment.
Plained brewed coffee meh try pour over , Americano or a Barista prepared beverage instead...
They make their bagels fressssh
no more free wifi :( only 2 hours complimentary .
Only 2 hours free wifi and it's so slow! Super aggravating! But the sandwiches are tasty...
Significantly less seating (seriously - tables but no chairs?) and outlets.
i miss you, espresso royale
at least we still have each other, sunrise bagel sandwich .
Ugh. This place has terrible coffee and never gets my sandwich right. Unfortunately it is the only cafe nearby besides the Starbucks at the GSU which has no food.
Spanish Latte
Waited for 25 min for an iced coffee . I miss Espresso Royale
pay with square
RIP espresso royale ...
RIP EXPRESSO ROYALE =[

This is a great place to fuel up before hiking the Freedom Trail. Great coffee, excellent breakfast sandwiches, and amazing pastries. - Kevin Dudley
Tabouli and hummus wrap! If you like either, get it. Both are made in-house and outstanding! - Nels Urtel
