Very professional museum ,well thought out. However,I noticed that it's not accurate about Turkey ,they kept saying "Turkey " instead of "Ottoman Empire" which are totally different states and countries !
The Big Picture show is an immersive experience every hour and well worth waiting for! Great little museum with lots to see and do and it also has a really nice cafe selling local produce ...
A very modern museum .. presented chronologically through pictures, items, videos and movies that are been projected on the walls. Beautiful building with caffé and shop on the ground floor.
Free Entry . Excellent museum for all ages housed in a modern building with stunning architecture . Don't forget to check out the viewing platform . Good cafe
Very informative and educational . There are also interactive sections alongside the exhibition .
The New Special Exhibition - From Street to Trench - Commemorates the Outbreak of World War I and the soldiers who fought it...well worth a visit.
Don't forget the hidden gem of the Waterside Exhibition - on the way to the Café ! and check out your family history via Your History on the Ground Floor
A fascination museum . I went for the architecture , stayed for the well curated displays & information.
Fantastic place to learn about history for free! Car park is expensive so park on Warren Bruce Road (2 minutes away - literally!)
See the new exhibition Saving Lives: Frontline Medicine in a Century of Conflict which examines how frontline medicine not only saves lives on the battleground but has led to scientific advances.
The rest of the hall has some particular exhibits and "personal stories" of people who have lived through conflict. It's quite fascinating.????
Great design, and hold some interesting exhibits inside and outside.
A really impressive museum , worth the visit for the Big Picture Show alone
Take in its brand new Horrible Histories: Rotten Rationing 360-degree Big Picture Show tomorrow with showings on Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 2pm
impressive story-telling - the big media shows in the middle of the space is completely immersive and inspiring.
Loved it, very interesting and the show on the hour is immersive and informative.
This is an amazing interactive museum that stimulates all the senses. The cafe is amazing. It’s an especially good choice for a rainy day.
A "timeline"runs right around the outer wall, chronicalling the War, Britains perspective, of course in the 20th 21st centuries.
The new war correspondent's exhibition is excellent 04/06/11 the actress talking about it was great too worth checking out when dramatic performances are on.
New Exhibitions for 2014 - From Street to trench - for centenary of world war 1 and A photographic exhibition on Syria in the waterside gallery
Parking £4, but car park fills up quickly. Park at the Lowry instead & walk across the bridge to the museum - free for 4hrs with a £5 purchase @ the Mall .
Best museum in town . Definitely.
Really enjoyed this museum !! Interesting displays! Free entrance
Get to the top of the tower, great view ! Not for height fearing people
Big Picture Shows are on on the hour apart from the last two - which are on the half hour!
It is a very moving experience and the films are awesome #leastwenotforget
Strong museum , especially the unespected 'air raid simulation', I was really scared for a while...
The IWM North is a great way to start your weekend days out.
It has a great narrative but short on actual display pieces.
An excellent museum , well worth a visit!
Best war museum i've ever visited
The newly installed art exhibition - "Catalyst" is well worth a visit.
Nice experience, FREE entry ! Must go!!
Received a free fudge bar from the receptionist upon exiting - the highlight of my visit
£5 for 4 hours parking at the minimum - coins only or RingGo charges a fee to pay by phone!
Very thought provoking
Interesting way to spend a couple of hours. Take a coat because it was cold inside
Access good for visitors with limited mobility - wheelchairs also available to borrow at the front desk.
Now started charging for the temporary exhibitions (£6) and completely geared towards making money. The shop is very poor wiyh a lousy selection. Incredibly disappointing.
The permanent exhibition
The museums new family exhibition , All Aboard is great for the kids. It's a must see!
The history of World War as documented
Entry is free & open daily from 10am-5pm (Last admission is on 4.30pm)
Sadly the rolls in the cafe that come with the soup are the hardest known to man :-(
