The Art department of Akateeminen kirjakauppa is an infinite source of inspiration. The Store is designed by famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto so even if you’re not into books it’s worth visiting.

The best bookstore in helsinki, situated in the smaller stockmann building. It has sofas you can sit down and read as well .

Stockmann’s academic bookstore has been an institution since the city centre department store opened in 1930. The best book shop in the city & claims to be the biggest in the Nordic countries .

On the negative: not exactly the best deals but on the positive: you can find most of the books you might be looking for and the staff is just great.

After re-decorating, it's not the same anymore. It's leaner, cleaner looks lack the old-school appeal the place was known for for decades.
