Figured out the hard way that the Castle Craig gate gets shut for winter on October 31.
Trail to Castle Craig is very good. Takes about 45 min to get to the top. There are several steep rocky slopes that you will have to clim

It was good until they locked the gate at 4:30pm and we were able to get out at 6:30pm after we got a fine ticket of $116 to local police officer . Bad memory to the park ; will never get there again.

Gate to the castle gets locked at 4:45 pm every night, don't get locked in cause it will take a while for someone to show up to get you out.
