Sibelius Monument

When it's windy, the monument starts to howl sad melodies just like in Jean Sibelius symphonies.

Beautiful work of art . Located near regatta cafe and the ocean.

Beautiful place!peaceful especially at sunset ! We enjoyed our walk into the park and by the sea

I enjoyed this however as a solo female I was a little anxious about the park setting it was in. It was only about 4pm but very dark in winter and a little scary

Monument dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius . More than 600 steel pipes welded together. A very touristy attraction .

Come before 9.30am if you don't want to share the monument with noisy tourist crowds!

Fun fact: originally Finns weren't so happy about the monument , that's why the face of Sibelius was put up besides the monument itself. It is quite impressive, but only if you can avoid tourists .

I walked thousands kilometres to reach there ???? it is far, but still good.

Ходили поздно вечером, подсветка делает это место волшебным. Ни одного человека вокруг, только снег хрустит. Красота

сибелиус - пожалуй, главное культурное достояние финнов в 20 веке , но памятник ему находится на отшибе, так что в случае однодневной поездки в хельсинки эту точку можно пропустить

С группой приехали очень рано)И в районе 7 утра оказались здесь) Восхитительное зрелище! В темноте он так красиво подсвечивается, что даже нет смысла сравнивать с дневным вариантом))))

Обязательно попробуйте зайти под скульптуру и спеть что-нибудь;)
