Easily the most annoying ferry in NYC on the weekends at least. 5 min trip can take 60-90 minutes some days. Did it twice, & will never do it again. Easier to pay $4 to NY Waterway for the 3 min ride.
Get the Governors island Explorer's Guide app for iPhone & you will discover lots to learn & see on the island
Come with a bike ; bike lines much shorter
Don't know what all these complaints are about. I walked right on with no wait and it's free!
The Brooklyn-to-Governor's Island ferry is a longer & more entertaining ride, with a much shorter line and goes every 20 minutes
Beware when camps visit. Got here to find the longest line of Tweens I've ever seen.
Passengers with bicycles get to skip the line
Longest wait for a boat that only take 5-7 minutes to get across. :(
Delicate steve owns governors island
Wait in line 90 minutes for a 5 minute boat ride .
Great service every time. Stupendous views of Manhattan. Cold drinks, solid menu. What more can you ask for? - Julian Ehrhardt
Every hour (on the half hour) go to the Ranger table for tickets to the rooftop tour (which will be an hour later but there is plenty to do) on the weekend. It's worth it for the views of NYC. - Natalie M.
