Margaret Island

Oase of silence where you can relax or do some excersise. It is a huge island with many sport yards, relaxing park zones, cute forest zoo and many culture and refreshing spots surrounded by nature.

Good sized park that has a petting zoo , athletic park , restaurants and a bathhouse I believe. You can take the public transport boats to and from either side of the City . Buda or Pest. Nice park .

Wooded island in the middle of the Danube with running/walking tracks all around. Connected to both Buda & Pest by bridges at each end. Deer in small enclosure on the Pest side half way along island .

Apart from a couple of hotels and sport facilities , there are no buildings on the island - it is a huge green park with promenades and benches , great for a date or a picnic . Read more

Best 5k course in the world (so far). Flat, rubberized, extremely pleasant 5.3k running track is encircling the island with the view of the Danube, Buda and Pest .

Super awesome park with many different things to do in a beautiful setting to explore. I went on a recent Sunday afternoon and people were hanging out, walking their dogs, riding bikes , etc

Formerly home to the harem during the Ottoman period. Now a beautiful park in which locals unwind and escape the pace of the city .

Island in the Danube. Reachable via tram 4-6 and then bus #26 that runs over the length of island . Take a bike/vehicle and enjoy the ride. Musical fountain is on at 4,6 and 9 PM. Relax, run and swim .

Whoever chose to make a park in this small island instead of buildings did a big service to everyone who has since lived in/visited Budapest. Not to be missed during fall and spring ;)

Its entrance is in the middle of Margaret Bridge . It's a big green, nature island you can go by bike . Great way to spend day. Fountain , trees , spa , hotel , aquapark, people walking on rope you can see.

I recommend to walk the island instead of renting bike ,that’s how you see and feel most of it. Laying on the grass was like heaven, you don’t need a spa after this. It s like heaven ..

An island in the city !Is located in the middle of Danube river.You must visit the singing fountain ,the water tower and all the gardens.You can hire a bicycle...it's so funny.????

Just lay on the ground , take some food with you and do whatever you want, stretching, jogging, reading books , writing your dairy, playing Frisbee , walking your dog! Also GOOD for romantic days!!

This place is very picturesque, if it is hot you can go to the Palatinus swimming baths and there are also a couple of good bars here, including one called 'Wonderland' which is very cool!

Best park in Budapest . PERIOD.

No words. Don t leave without visiting the island . It s relaxing and it feels like you are in heaven. Lay on the grass is a must. Loved it.

Run the 5.8km-long rubberized track around the island , see the music fountain , take a picnic , in summer months there's live music . The Japanese Garden was renovated in 2014.

Every sunday free yoga during the summer! There's a lot open green place here, perfect for rendezvous or picnic too! Btw. do you know why it is called "Margit"? Check the history!

Plenty to do and see for nothing! We rented an electric car to drive around for the novelty. Which was relatively cheap . Must see the musical fountain .

Large park that's very calm when you get near the center away from the tourists . Bring a blanket or towel and have nap under a tree after all the sightseeing.

Not only is there a nifty lighted founten show, but there is a water founten for drinking as well . Save those forints where you can turista.

Amazing place.make sure to visit it in a nice weather. Green & super beautiful park . Cars not allowed. Only one bus goes there.

Margaret Island is between Buda and Pest in the middle of the Danube. In summertime it's great for running, cycling or hanging out with friends. Check out the summer festivals held here!

You can take a long walk there, watch multimedia fountain show and just relax. Lack of restaurants of an island is a disadvantage. There are only food trucks and bars .

Tip: if you are going to the island with the green sightseeing boat, you have a 1 hour free voucher from the ones that tour guides give you! ????????????????????????

It s a wonderful recreation park no cars except electro cars and bikes allowed. Check out the thermal bath nearby as well !

Silent, fresher air (than the other places in city ), little zoo , japanese-garden, and good running route!

A green spot in Budapest – but all the cultural sculptures and fountains are disappointing. Especially the musical fountain .

Rent a bike with friends and have the best time ever. After that, chill by the fountain .
