Get there right before dusk and be prepared to be amazed. The colony is quite large and you can see it swarming out every night from many different angles above and below the bridge .
All the waiting around and the fowl smell was worth it! Really cool free activity. Saw lots of fish , turttles, two snakes and even a beaver in the river below.
Park at Spotts Park at dusk, then walk over to the corner of Allen & Waugh to watch the bats emerge in droves after the sun goes down. You have to see it to believe it.
It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but it was still a great sight to see. The highlight was watching the hawks try to catch them.
Lots and lots of bats at dusk/sunset. Really neat; really stinks.
Pretty cool when the bats cooperate.
Plenty of bats but I have yet to find Robin.
It's definitely better to watch from the bridge . The bats emerged toward the east along the water path.
Fun to see the bats fly around at night. Not as creepy as you would think.
Amazing sight, its gotta be more than a million bats under that bridge !
Be prepared for a pungent odor. Bat guano is not pleasant.
It's not Austin's Congress Bridge , but it will do!
