Croton Dam

Go on the upper road (which is free) if you want the view . We paid 10 dollars to park below in the park , but it was unnecessary if the view is your goal. Parking is challenging for the road .

During the summer, you can pick lots of wild berries on the road that starts on the south side of the bridge . Swimming not allowed but people jump in the water anyways! Watch for park rangers if u do.

Let the sound of rushing water and the stone-cut masterpiece take you to another world. Once you get back to Earth, hike some of the aqueduct trail .

Very beautiful piece of engineering . Except seeing the dam itself you can also take trails to Old Croton Aqueduct from here.

The scenery is beautiful. But when you get close to the water dam it reeks. No wonder there are no swimming signs in place. I wouldn't recommend this park to anyone.

Once the largest dam in the world + 2nd largest hand-hewn stone masonry structure (after the Great Pyramids at Giza). Breathtaking views from Croton Gorge Park AND the top of the bridge . A MUST!
