Beautiful beach only a 30 minute ferry ride from Wall Street. Take a cooler and byob (there's none to buy there) & rent bikes with a tag along to cruise around Til you find the perfect beach . Bliss
Amazing place to go to the beach , explore, or ride a bike . A lot of kite surfers on the water. Parts of the park are dog friendly as well .
Lots D and E have lifeguards and lots of kids. Bathrooms are open. Keep driving north for the fort and lighthouse . It's definitely worth the trip.

Yeahhh Gunnison is a nude beach , but you won't feel pressured to get naked if you don't want to. You'll see lots of bathing suits there. Go!

Camping checkout is 10am. Pay for the extra day @ $20. You can roam around the park / leave whenever since it includes free parking (usually $15 anyway).

Best to come on a weekday to avoid the crowds. If you wanna get a tan and go for a swim , this is the beach to be at the Jersey Shore!
North Beach is the park 's widest beach . There are bathrooms , showers , and often a concession truck near the parking lot .
New for 2019: alcohol is not permitted on the beach . Park rangers will enforce the new law. ????

Make sure you have some bug spray for flies after a rainy day. Watch the red flag to let you know when the flies are coming. If its in your direction you're good.
No Boardwalk! But absolutely clean and lovely beach ! If you dont want to spend the whole day at the beach , go after 5 PM , the beach is half empty and no entrance fee either!
Interesting history, felt like a fort from another time and place. Officers' former homes available for long-term lease, though tenants are responsible for the renovation.
Great place to walk around year round. Gets crowded in the summer so come early for a good spot.
Please remember to bring a few plastic bags and take your garbage. Dont be a lazy pig and leave it for others to deal with. Jersey Strong :)
Only 2 areas were closed from what I could see. Only one side is freshly paved, but I have to say she looks terrific!!!

Bring your rollerblades or bicycles for a great time. Just stay off the nude beach . Old people "hanging" around lol
Windy!! 18 mph headwind but the bike path is fixed from the damage from Sandy.
Parking lot D has the food trucks
beach is nice, water is clean and not rocky.. the only thing I did not like is that there are so many flies and they bite like mosquitos!
