Beautiful beach only a 30 minute ferry ride from Wall Street. Take a cooler and byob (there's none to buy there) & rent bikes with a tag along to cruise around Til you find the perfect beach . Bliss

Jay Eagleson

Amazing place to go to the beach , explore, or ride a bike . A lot of kite surfers on the water. Parts of the park are dog friendly as well .

Iqbal Yusaf

Lots D and E have lifeguards and lots of kids. Bathrooms are open. Keep driving north for the fort and lighthouse . It's definitely worth the trip.

MetroFocus

A sweet spot for nature lovers, as there are more than 300 species of birds at these beaches . Also for those who hate tan lines , there are some nude beach areas as well . Read more at MetroFocus. Read more

Yeahhh Gunnison is a nude beach , but you won't feel pressured to get naked if you don't want to. You'll see lots of bathing suits there. Go!

Untapped Cities

In addition to surf , sand and swim , the beach is also home to a military fort dating back to 1902 that protected for New York City until World War II. See photos here: Read more

Winner of Best Convenient Beach in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! The $40 roundtrip ferry ride is well worth the seclusion and tranquility.

Camping checkout is 10am. Pay for the extra day @ $20. You can roam around the park / leave whenever since it includes free parking (usually $15 anyway).

Kevin O'Neill

Save the $200 on a car rental beach getaway and opt-in for an express boat ride to this cozy beach spot . Pack a picnic lunch options are limited

Kenneth L

Best to come on a weekday to avoid the crowds. If you wanna get a tan and go for a swim , this is the beach to be at the Jersey Shore!

Peyton Sherwood

North Beach is the park 's widest beach . There are bathrooms , showers , and often a concession truck near the parking lot .

Nate S

New for 2019: alcohol is not permitted on the beach . Park rangers will enforce the new law. ????

Nicholle Weir

Great beach !

Make sure you have some bug spray for flies after a rainy day. Watch the red flag to let you know when the flies are coming. If its in your direction you're good.

sweta ved

No Boardwalk! But absolutely clean and lovely beach ! If you dont want to spend the whole day at the beach , go after 5 PM , the beach is half empty and no entrance fee either!

MrsCorkster

Interesting history, felt like a fort from another time and place. Officers' former homes available for long-term lease, though tenants are responsible for the renovation.

Todd A Williams

Great place to walk around year round. Gets crowded in the summer so come early for a good spot.

Lisa Maloney ????

Please remember to bring a few plastic bags and take your garbage. Dont be a lazy pig and leave it for others to deal with. Jersey Strong :)

Marielle

Only 2 areas were closed from what I could see. Only one side is freshly paved, but I have to say she looks terrific!!!

Great place to relax and bring your dog (on the bay side)

Come here to see a sunrise. Especially the first sunrise of the year... dress warm though.

Jared Brodsky

Beautiful beach ! Skip parking field C - go to the next one. There is a restaurant there.

Erin

The week at the beach is so much more relaxing than the weekend!!
