Great theatre in a great town . Free water bottles were handed out to audience in front of the stage, something I've never seen at other venues and have never been more grateful for! Awesome time!
The State Theatre of Portland is gracious enough to let Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles grace their stage in the Community Service Variety Show on 5/4! It's sure to be a crazy time! Read more
State Theatre is a nice venue for music . The atmosphere is intimate and the acoustics good. The architecture is nice, well appointed inside. Perfect for Jim Brickman, who didn't disappoint.
The State gets great acts but with no smoking area or readmission they set themselves up for failure. The security is heavy handed and ultimately a buzz kill. TSA style pat downs at the door.
Beautiful renovated theatre . The drinks leave a bit to be desired. Go to Congress Bar and Grill a few storefronts down on Congress st if you want a great drink and meal.
Love the State Theatre! Always have! They've really given it an Amazing makeover! Its Portland's Place to go for Excellent Concerts & Shows!
Easily my favorite small concert venue . Not a bad seat our standing area in the house and a great lineup every year.
One of the best venues in the state ... if the beer lines get crazy don't forget about the upper bars - including the upper balcony .
The building could use some upkeep but it's still an adequate place to see some really great music . It does get hot in there sometimes though.
Well kept neat little theater with a descent in house PA. There is actually a dock for load in too, which is a bonus for an old theater .
I love the venue. Good place for a concert and think it would be great for love theatre as well .
One of Portland's staples for quality live entertainment - theater and music - check out their schedule for amazing performances throughout the year!
There's not a bad view in the house. Hit the balcony bars when you can, much less crowded .

No air conditioning anywhere in the building. Inside temps reach dangerous levels. Building should be dark during the summer months
Bring your earplugs. Apparently the sound mixers don't realize that turning all the levels up doesn't make the show rock more, it just causes headaches.
Best music venue in Portland.
There are almost no bad seats . Great venue.
Upstairs at the rail FTW
For a close up view . http://youtu.be/-dFzkn-hc_I
The bass can rock the balcony . It is not an earthquake.
Awesome venue

Beware the lines to pay at the Eastland Gateway garage !

Jessica lea Mayfield is great
no smoking inside. no readmittance= fire alarm evacuations...
Nice venue! There is an elevator and stairs to the balcony sections. Seated areas in the balconies and directly in front of the stage, general admission standing room is on the main level - Storm C.
I was there a couple of days ago for my birthday. The Nosh Burger, bacon-dusted fries, and Dark & Stormy were awesome. One of the waitresses was smokin', too. ;) - Erik Sandelin
Always carrying lots of local brews on tap like Baxter & Allegash. Try the Stowaway IPA when available, It's even better on tap than in the can! - Portland Old Port
Food was delightfully unexpected. Different and delicious. Pulled pork tacos were yummy and fresh. - christine viscone
