Use the line and save the jobs we can offer in our neighborhood . Only use the self checkout if you are not in absolute rush. We need more cashier jobs.

This is a couples friendly store . One gets to get in line while another shops.

Coming from New York, it's nice to not feel rushed in a grocery store and have so many options.

It's strange seeing so many complaints; it's a large grocery store with plenty of options. The Natural Foods section is great.

It's fine during the week but avoid at all costs on weekends. On Saturday/Sunday it's a cluster/ shit storm with lines to the back of the store for every register.

Despite the horrific lines , I wouldn't go anywhere else for my pharmacy ! Really nice and helpful staff .

If your only options are to go to this store or go hungry, choose the latter. The check out lines will make you wish you were dead anyway.

Late night groceries is best if you hate huge lines .

Best hours to shop..8am -10am then get out!

If you want to avoid being a douche, don't bring produce or alcohol through the self-checkout lines . It slows everything down when an employee has to key in codes for these.

Coming to this place between 5 and 7pm on a weeknight is one of the outer circles of hell. Maybe inner.

The key is to shop at 2am-7am

This place has the slowest cashiers on earth, and the place is packed on Sunday! Good grief!

The lines are unbearable and there never seems to be a good time to beat the crowds!

I try to avoid self checkout as often as possible. As much as people complain about the staff I find them to be better than the customers (myself included).

They sell the sort of "homey " foods you normally have to go to the suburbs for, like Dove mini-ice cream bars.They're often out of random things, which= annoying. I swear by self-checkout. Less surly.

Every single line is fifteen deep for subpar meats and produce. Please please please put a teeter harris in here.

Dear God, surely there is a way to introduce another grocery store in Columbia Heights. This place is the hell of grocery stores . Expect to wait an hour to check out.

Checkout Saturday morning before 10 am if you don't wantit to take an hour...

Filling the entire produce section with tomatoes does not replace the product (s!) you're out of, not does it help me realize you're out of avocados . Instead it's sloppy merchandising.

If there's no line at the deli counter, you're only going to be waiting 20 minutes for your half-pound of Virginia ham .

All you can find and many promotions with the fidelity card. Fruits are not good though.

This joint is always off the chain. At least it smells better, then one on georgia ave.

The self-checkout machine has more attitude than a TSA agent.

Regardless of how long the self check out appears, it's ALWAYS faster than the other lines .

There were no lines , if you don't want to wait try to shop during a severe weather advisory.

It's a random tuesday and the lines (all lines ) are tho the back of the store. This Giant SUCKS.

Remember to bring your plastic bags and product wraps back to the store for recycling !

Go to Target, Harris teeter , whole foods, cvs, anywhere else instead. Unless you are super into lines

They always double coupons at Giant under $1. So bring in a coupon for $.75 and it becomes $1.50 off.

Because of the recent plastic bag tax, Free reusable shopping bags! Wonder how long that will last.

best time to go sunday mornings i.e. shorter lines

This giant doesn't appear to have organic produce section or variety. #fail

Make sure you bring back your plastic bags for recycling !

Avoid coming here during peak hours of 5pm-8pm. SO crowded . You'll be standing in check out line for 20 minutes.

Don't come on Sunday night.

Always busy from open to close.

Shop here if you like empty shelves and enjoy terrible service with an attitude chaser. The guaranteed panhandling and sexual harassment outside are a nice bonus!

This place is always a zoo and the staff are not so effective. Please! Another grocery store in CH!!!!!
