Get there early to actually have time to stroll about, see the animals, and catch the safari bus . Do not skip out on the safari bus :)
Do take the safari bus that is included in the ticket price! The Zoo itself is dispersed sometimes hard to see the animals (especially on a hot day), but the safari makes up for it all.
Had a great time at this zoo - was surprised by its size. The safari tour (included in price) is great; goes for about 40 minutes. Take a zoom lens - some of the animals like hiding in the distance.
Pros: Great open space for families & picnics . Tigers are a must see if you get here early. MUST, go on bus tour . Cafe and eating are is amazing. Cons: If you miss the bus tours , you won’t see much.
It's not a big zoo . Doesn't have many animals. Safari on open field is the gem. We had a wonderful trip with unforgettable experiences.
Personally I'd rate this zoo better than Melbourne Zoo but not Philip Island Wildlife Park . Fantastic range of animals on display.
Open zoo , lots of walking - be prepared, the walk tours around are really relaxing and beautiful.
you can see very close to the animals, if you get on safari that starts every half hour 😉
Get in early to avoid the school holiday rush, definately worth the trip and come back over and over because it's different evey time, you can't get tired of this amazing place.
Free safari every 20 mins is worth the buck you pay for entry. Can catch up animals quite close especially the kangaroos
The lion enclosure is great. Go in the morning when they’re more active.
I love the safari tour and meet the keeper sessions. My kids also love the zoo at night during winter!
This zoo just keeps getting better and better. Love the windows to enclosures and how the animals come up so close. New buses offer clearer view . Read more
A Safari Bus Trip around the Zoo , it's a Must Do... You'll Get to see all of the Awesome Animals Up Close
My nephew loves playing at the safari car at the lions & lionesses’ territory
Safari tour is very good! It comes free with the entrance fee
Don't expect much from this zoo , it's mainly to experience the safari / open range concept. Totally great! If its windy make sure you bring your glasses cause sand will get into your eyes!
Each school holiday season we bring our vacation care children here and they love it. WE will be back these school holidays.
Safari bus ride and entire zoo’s African theme were a treat.
A different experience and lesser selection of animals, still enjoyable
Safari ride is awesome, just slightly less variety of animals.
Grab lunch early and sit near the windows for a nice meerkat show
Do the tall order experience feed the giraffes was amazing and great value . My 6 year old loved it
Excellent. The "safari" ride is actually quite authentic .
Do the safari first so that you don't forget!
Great wild nights allow you to enjoy the park at night
Hippo feeding at 4:15pm and Cheetah feeding at 4.35pm. Make sure to go for a walk on the Pula reserve walking trail to see lions, meerkats , hippos etc at close!
Head to the safari trip early on in the day to avoid the queues
Top tip. If you don't like crowds, come to the Werribee Zoo when the Werribee mansion Easter gg hunt is on. There is no one here!!
Get to the tour bus area well before the departure time to secure a good seat.
Go for the open vehicle tour . Fantastic for photographers . Much better than the closed buses
Great for family with children
Food is over priced/ service is slow (almost hostile)... a training & management issue? Venue is great due to the zoo , and general zoo staff are lovely. Just pack a lunch instead and save money.
Don't miss out on the safari, it's really fun! Avoid the cold pesto pasta from the bistro fridge ; it's terrible.
Ask for ranger Bindy Saunders for your tour guide best member of the crew. Her knowledge is extensive and her people skills are second to none.
Everything
Go Safari!!!
nice! just that need more animals coz seems so empty
Awesome fun! Great place to take the kids with a picnic .
Overpriced food
