Waterfront Park

There is plenty of parking on Harbor Drive. Bring some quarters. The lawn area is great for a picnic or lounging out and playing football with friends. Restrooms and grounds are clean .

Great vibe and feeling of community. Not much shade, so don't forget your sunblock! Avoid parking at the park as it's $15 - $20 in the underground lot. Get out and walk!

Beautifully redesigned park overlooking the San Diego bay in downtown. Kids will love cooling off in the spray fountains on a summer day. Metered street parking is usually a breeze around the park .

Don't forget a towel, sunscreen , hat and sunglasses. Not a lot of shade . Fun place for the little ones.

Plenty of parking with parking meters. Nice place to see sail boats and plenty of grass to lie down with blanket and chill out . Dog friendly .

So far this is a great ace to bring the kids! They have a playground and water areas for kids to splash around in! A definite must see!

Don't let security bully your kids! Playground has age "recommendations", but parents can stand up to security depending on your kids age and ability.

Miss the tuna boats from my youth, but the Maritime museum is pretty awesome

Security likes to get on a power trip. No amplified music , so you have to sit here in silence. This of course doesn't apply to the ice cream truck .

It's nice with the family parking is a bit hard to find but if ur willing to pay $10 there's parking right underneath the waterfront ..

Bring a towel and wear your sunscreen . Kids of all ages will enjoy the water fountains !
