Look out for the Muppet Dog who gets walked on the beach like 3 times a day in the summer. Thing looks like a Muppet. It's awesome.
If you have kids, definitely go here at low tide, lots of tidal pools and very small waves. Decent snack bar , swings , picnic tables , showers
