Very large main courses so bring your appetite, order one main course with several sides and share OR prepare to take home a doggie bag. Fried catfish and shrimp are worth breaking any diet!
Opened 1969. South L.A. Creole restaurant opened by New Orlean’s transplants Harold & Belle Legaux. It was renovated in 1985.
Fried seafood platter with red snapper and shrimp is my favorite deep fried seafood restaurant in LA ????. We got the house salad with green goddess dressing ; went well with the salty food.
Charbroil Oysters ... ... Definitely feel like I am back in NOLA. Though much smaller than the real ones, they are delicious. Squeeze of lemon may change the taste totally... Watch out.
The charbroiled oysters with brown butter was divine! I'd recommend most dishes.
There is only valet parking but they take credit card . It’s a creole menu with lots of po boys , jambalaya , and other standards. The average dish is $15-$25 so it’s expensive .

Slow service but good food!
Service is terrible, food is equivalent. Over priced. Not worth it and definitely not what it used to be. Don't waste your time coming here.
The food is okay and the service was lacking.
Very large portions . Food is very average. Not the best soul food .
Its okay. The okra gumbo is a bit lacking
The menu and the food is not The same. The smell in there was horrible. This will be my last time eating here
Small parking lot however, it is a must stop when you are craving something sweet & fresh. Funnel cakes are absolutely yummy. Next is the sno-ball (snow cone). Always crowded....worth the wait! - Rita Raygosa
Shrimp Omelette, Short rib and grits and chicken wings are all phenomenal! - Shamus Wilson
Must get the soft shell crab po'boy! And the craw mac is heavenly. - Carms
