Their sugar coated yam is the closest u get to orh nee here. They could fry it a tad browner and sweeter. I think the teochews have a similar dish?!?
The salted egg creamy prawns was the failure of the night - lacking in salted egg taste and heavy handed with the thickeners that when the dish cooled the sauce congealed into a jelly ????
Spicy Lala is different from the sambal types (with rempah). Here, they use more assam... My sons loved it!
The cold trotters and the accompanying dip is yummers. Gelatin and collagen all present here!!
Sweet sour fish ... Some prettily served but my mom complained abt the lack of sweet sour sauce ... Whatever sauce there was needs to be tweaked to add a punch!
Like what they serve at Two Chefs ... More garlic and more cockles here!
Their Lor Mee is served hot and has a chockful of ingredients at the bottom. I would order this again ...
Daughter inhaled the plate... Husband managed to salvage a piece and said it was yummy ... So should order I guess... I didn't get to try
The Heng Hwa fried bee Hoon was raved about... It's different, they use a mee suka type noodle instead, the crunchy peanuts and seaweed add to the texture but a tad bland.
Bamboo shoots and intestines... Children poo-pooed it and the adults picked at the intestines only ... Probably won't order this again
Their Butter Cream Prawns are superb!
Homemade hot chrysanthemum is a good choice...
