Perfect place to spend a sunny day, don't miss the chance to enter the wind mills and enjoy the beautiful views . It's a must if you wanna get a taste of Holland , but be aware that is quite touristic .

What a beautiful typical Dutch village with a lot of windmills .the place it’s like the old movies (:
Windmills are beautiful and just that. The rest: infinite ways to take money from you with cheesy entertainment. €4,00 to look inside ONE windmill ? And there's a lot of new stuff passing for heritage.
Stunning and amazing. Beautiful area with so many cafés . Don’t miss this amazing place.
It is the most beautiful place in Holland ❤️and it is just an hour from Amsterdam....

Awesome day trip from Amsterdam. Take bus 391 from Amsterdam Centraal. Windmills and river that gives a feel of old Holland . Almost perfect place on a sunny day!
Perfection! It's close to Amsterdam and you can see traditional wooden houses, gardens , bridges , and windmills operating! You can explore one and drink hot chocolate in it. I didn't want to leave..
Ice-cream at the cheese shop was so smooth, milky ; just a little sweet. Loving the variety of cheese to sample at the shop!!
Rent a bike in Amsterdam, get on the train (15min) towards Uitgeest. Get off at Koog-Zaandijk station and pedal your way to this amazing site!
In the summer months , you can cross the river Zaan with a small ferry . It shuttles between Zaandijkersluis (Lagedijk, Zaandijk) and the windmill Bonte Hen on the Zaanse Schans.
Recommend driving & spending a few hours here. Charming stores - slightly crowded in the afternoon. If you go via tour . The stops can be rather hurried.
Windmills , one of the first things come to one's mind when you hear Holland . Zaanse Schans is one of the most popular places where you can get a postcard picture of windmills and not travel too long. Read more
It is a 'must have' for anyone who goes to Netherlands for the first time ... a beautiful landscape.
Make the short trip from AMS to see old school windmills and a touristy yet interesting and worthwhile slice of Dutch nostalgia.

The working sawmill was awesome! We stopped there on a bus tour and didn't have enough time to linger, explore or shop the area. Needed more than an hour.

What a beautiful typical Dutch village with a lot of windmills . Definitely must see if you are in Amsterdam.
Dutch classic you just have to see. Beware of photobombing asian tourists . You just have to be more cheeky than them.
You can climb up one of the mills (the one that grinds pigment for paint) for a good view . You can also buy a creamy hot chocolate in there.
Beautiful place. Astonishing views . Better get here on NS intercity/sprinter with your bikes .
This was purpose built to promote the heritage of windmills . Expect crowds and excessive numbers of gift shops , but the view is pretty
