Union artillery held the line alone here on Cemetery Ridge late in the day as Meade called for infantry from Culp’s Hill and other areas to strengthen and hold the center of the Union position.
Another must see during your stay on the battlefield. If it's clear outside stay until sunset and watch the awesome display as the sun goes down.

2d MS, 42d MS, & 55th NC hide in the cut to escape Federal fire. Unfortunately the 84th NY, 95th NY and 6th WI reach the steep banks and shoot down. 42d MS & 55th NC escape but most 2d MS captured. - CJ Wallington
