Everything we had was excellent! Jalapeño cornbread , biscuit , swamp omelette , home fries , grits , banana pancakes ....
The cajun scramble was great. Get the rice and beans along with the blueberry cornbread . There is a hot sauce on the wall called Alimony (berry based hot sauce ) which makes the cornbread even better!
It really does feel (and taste) like New Orleans. I'm not sure there is a more satisfying breakfast spot in all of Portland. Try the Cajun Scramble and add a blueberry pancake if you have room.
Brunch or breakfast , andouille sausage , hash browns , eggs . Grew up eating southern Cajun BBQ and this is some of the best I've ever had!
OMW!! There are LOTS of GREAT places to eat in Portland! But this place really stands head & shoulders above! Stumbled onto this place by accident, but what a find! This is authentic Cajon Food!
What a lovely breakfast experience at The Bayou Kitchen. Greeted as we entered, seated immediately where WE chose, and served coffee/tea before our coats were off. It got better from there.
Jambalaya ! Authentic Cajun food , by an authentic chef . Chef friendly & eager to offer suggestions based upon your preferences. Ambiance could be better, but prices very reasonable
Everything is amazing here. An absolute must go to place and one of our favorites by far!
Excellent food every single time. Cajun scramble is awesome. Red beans and rice is consistently great!
Three Alarm Eggs were awesome! Pancake on the side was great too. Staff real friendly . Great find and will definitely be back!
It's all good! The beans and rice are so tasty and every style of cornbread is a winner.
Everything is delish... But make sure you get jalapeño cornbread !
The Cajun scramble is amazing. Check out the shelf of hot sauces .
Your right. Jalapeño cornbread is awesome!
Jalapeno cornbread is off the chain!!
Try the three alarm eggs with homemade salsa and chili !
Everything we had was fantastic, what a find!!!
Huevos Rancheros were great. Soul food real.

Jambalaya Add Crawfish
Best breakfast in Portland.
Amazing cajun scramble !
Favorite breakfast spot ever.
Prepare to wait! We waited approximately 20 minutes just to have our order taken. Food had a quick turnaround though, thankfully. Also, beware of the female wait staff ... rather rough
Biscuits > cornbread
Buenos Rancheros 1/2 and 1/2 chili-no eggs !
Cajun scramble
Have the Mud Bug omelet or the Coffee Pecan pancakes !
Mud bug madness!
Juevos Rancheros or die.
I live in the neighborhood and wish I liked what they were doing. There is always a line on the weekend but it's just not for me.
Service issues have been worked out. Great oyster selection, terrific baked stuffed lobster and fried clams. Bravo! No wait at all on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend for an upstairs table outside. - Brenda Garrand
Definitely get the raw scallop cocktail. Sweet, fresh, and HUGE! - Ivana Li
The best Thumbprint Cookies you've ever tasted. Also a big fan of the scones and any of their breads. - Michael Hussey
