Best breakfast spot in Des Moines with out a doubt. If you are looking for a hip and trendy place , go somewhere else. This place is all about the food. Best hash-browns you will ever have.
EVERYTHING HASHBROWNS!!! She who must be Obeyed is having SPECIALTY CAKES in the Apple Cinnamon persuasion (as long as she can have as much of mine as she wants). I'm having two eggs & gravy on top!
The Vegetarian Skillet was fabulous! I got the half portion, couldn't eat half of that. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, tender in the middle. A throwback to the diner days of the 50's.
Can get a little crowded , but that's only because this is the best breakfast spot in the Des Moines area. Order the "Everything Hashbrowns ", you won't regret it.
Best breakfast on this side of the Mississippi.. Try the western omelette it's to die for! Be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes for a table it's worth the wait though
I have not had a bad breakfast . Great hash browns and tasty biscuits and gravy and excellent omelets . Can't go wrong.
One of the best places for breakfast in Des Moines. Whatever you end up getting, be sure that it includes hashbrowns . Evan[Bu] recommends the bacon and sausage omelet . Wow, even the toast is tasty!

Waveland's Mexi Best Skillet . It's delightful. Not pretty, not upscale , mediocre service and bad coffee . But I love it. LOVE it. Oh, and tiny - so be prepared to hang out and wait for a table.
Mexi skillet is absolutely amazing..toast on the side? Probably the best breakfast spot in Des Moines ..more than enough food for your money too..
The owners are nice and friendly and the food is great here and they know about my diet of no dairy.
