Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine

Really cool fort. See its history as a fort throughout the last 200 plus years. See the actors in theme giving out canon demonstrations and more. Make sure you take a look at the harbor from the walls

Nice to go and listen the park ranger tell you the stories. It beautiful landmar. Great view of Baltimore and the battlefield. Amazing movies at the center about the soldiers

Historic fun. Learn about the War of 1812 & Francis Scott Key : Singing the Star-Spangled Banner at the O's game might mean a little more afterwards. Great for a run, dog-walk, or watching the water.

Start off by watching video that has an AWESOME finally! Grounds are beautiful and lot of history to learn. Great place to spend half a day!

One of the most pivotal sites in American history, replete with gorgeous grounds, panoramic views of the bay & city , a walking/running path and visitor center in the middle. A truly special place.

If you don't want to pay (and don't mind not seeing the inside of the fort), you can walk the perimeter paths of the park for free. Takes you around the fort for some nice scenic views of the harbor .

This was an amazing untouched fort The original American flag was hung here. They have the grounds open can go to the barracks where the soldiers live and the original cannons It's 7$ entry

This star shaped fort is best known for its role in the War of 1812 when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy in the Chesapeake Bay .

. Many stories of ghosts and ghostly activity include: a shadowy figure marching along the parapets, an evil spirit in the hallway leading to the bathrooms , floating or moving furniture

The National Park Service has done a great job preserving this Fort. Make sure you watch the film at the visitors center first.

Read about Francis Scott Key in the exhibit . He owned slaves, but released most. He despised Abolitionists, and called for slaves to be re-established in Africa. His grandson was imprisoned at the Ft.

Stand in the center of the theater during the movie . You'll have the best view for the dramatic ending.

I had a nice time talking to fellow walkers and park rangers . Walked twice around in forty five minutes. Disabled Americans can visit park for free.

My son uses his pirate ship from Legos in the bath tub and reinacts the battle. He would go to the fort every day if I could afford it.

Check out the movie , it's worth it. Also the noon flag ceremony is nice to have the kids participate

While it was a key site of the Battle of Baltimore, it's now the perfect place to sit, relax and watch the water. Bring some lunch . Grab a book .

Awesome!!! Preserving history. Very informative narrative. Well worth the visit.

Fireworks over the Fort. They have them several times a year and they are always spectacular. Flag Day and Defenders' Day are among the best.

Nice view . It was a lovely time until obnoxious teenagers screaming about the smell of another teenagers private parts ruined the day.

Ranger Vince is the best. He is the most animated, entertaining and fun tour guide.

Learn what inspired Francis Scott Key to write "The Star-Spangled Banner." My 10yo and 5yo daughters really enjoyed walking around the fort.

The birthplace of our national anthem. If it wasn't for Fort McHenry, we would have no national anthem.
