Northstar California Resort

This is one of my favorite resorts here in Tahoe . The mountain is great for hanging out with a group of friends who are at different skill levels. There is a trail for everyone!

Ladies: if you have big calves and need ski rentals, ask for the men's Dalbellos. It's a little more work but at least you can get down the mountain without wanting to cut your feet off!

Great for kids. But it needs to have serious amounts of snow to be interesting at all for advanced boarders and skiers save from the parks . Groomers . Pricey as all get out now. The Ritz Carlton set.

Although very expensive (thanks for nothing, Vail), still one of my favorite mountains . Pro tip: buy tickets online at least a day in advance.

Great family ski area . Roast some marshmallows by the fire pits around the ice skating area and try to meet their CMO - The Canine Marketing Officer - Marshmallow .

A very family friendly resort . Park at the Ritz if you have kids, the bunny slopes are right next to the hotel .

They tore out all their parking and as a result they are running out of parking every weekend day there's good snow by 10:30. What a mismanaged resort !!!

It's good riding but pricey . Nice features. Make this a once-a-year deal then go to Kirkwood for the rest of the time. Vail owns both so either way they collect the dues.

Fancy breath-taking views of Lake Tahoe ? In winter, the top of Comstock Lift on Northstar offers unparalleled lake panoramas of perhaps the greatest snow on Earth.

Buy Ski Trails condos instead of The Village . You ski down to the lift, it is prettier, quieter , has access to the way nicer rec center and is half the price!

Great early in the season, as they don't have water restrictions and can make tons of snow before anyone else. Great for families, if that's important.

Really good mountain . Less crowded . Great option even if you are staying in South Lake Tahoe ! Great road scenery!

Great ski & snowboard resort ! Will definitely be back again!!!

Micah & josh in the northstar sports & rentals shop are kind & helpful, especially for beginners w/ a lot of questions (this girl)

Parking gets full quickly (the $30-45 lots) save some time and drop off your group and park at the further lots and take the shuttle

Super friendly staff in the rental shop. Actually, everyone who works here has a smile on their face

Stay in the Northstar Condos . You can have snow parties without having to deal with Hotel Security...and they're awesome inside. Easily sleeps 10 people if you get creative.

If you get left on the backside lift when they shut it down for the night, pray for phone reception and call 9-1-1!

Nice view and big ski resort . However the price is also higher than most others.

The man made snow is actually fine to ski on. The technology has improved a lot. Don't bother bringing your camera . EpicMix has it covered.

No need to check in to get your S'more . Just show up at the rink at 3pm and staff will come by with trays.

Get here early to avoid a mess for parking ; it can take well over a half hour to get from the turnoff to a parking spot on a crowded day.

Great family resort , but not geared to the adv/expert skier/boarder. However there are a lot of great tree runs. Weekends get overcrowded with noobs and tickets are overpriced. (close to 90$)

Best resort in north lake tahoe

Mid-mountain near the cabin there are crepe vendors. I had a fresh made crepe with caramelized apples and cinnamon that was a GREAT start to my skiing day.

The Burton Academy makes for a great first time experience on a snowboard . Learn the basics and start cruising down the bunny hill in a matter of hours.

One of the best terrain parks around and White Rabbit on a pow day is amazing!

The blacks are easy unless you hit lookout. Those are the real blacks. Stampede is the hardest run in the resort . Comparable to kirkwood blacks. Avoid the front side at all costs.

Great place for tourists and yuppies. Real people ski places like homewood or diamond peak

Make sure to head over to the Backside .
