Got in line @ 445 am for SBTix w about 80 people in front of us we chose the dress rehearsal & got tickets 43 & 44 & made it in! Sure the best seat is in your living room but a must see once or twice!

If you get there by 3 am on the day of a taping , standby tix possible. Choose the rehearsal for the best chance. Tickets vary based on host / weather. The SNL ticket lottery is released every August!

Get standby tickets @7am the day of a taping . Got in line at 3:30am and chose the rehearsal (2:1 odds) - got tix 57/58 and were the last 2 let in! Chances of getting in vary based on host / weather.

Larry David was able to get only one sketch on the show while at SNL, which aired at 12:50 AM, the last time slot on the show. He left midseason with no goodbye & started a show called "Seinfeld."

The characters Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World originated on the stage of Saturday Night live where Mike Myers and Dana Carvey made names forthemselves.

The studio has fantastic acoustics , everything sounds great. Clap or laugh when no on else does (if you're at the live show) and hear yourself on TV !

If you like something in the dress rehearsal , make sure to laugh so they don't cut it!

In 1992, Sinéad O'Connor created quite the controversy, during her SNL performance , when she ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II at the conclusion of an cappella rendition of Bob Marley's "War."

Newer episodes make use of smell-o-vision tech where you can smell what the characters smell by simply holding the remote up to your nose
