Fort Morgan State Historic Site

Construction began 1819, completed 1834. Large brick fort serviced the Civil War, Spanish-American War and both world wars. It played a major role during the Battle of Mobile Bay (1864). Museum details fort's history.

Amazing place. So glad we did the tour . Got to watch muskets being fired and a cannon being fired. Place was oozing with history. Must see if you’re there!

A wonderful place! The only thing I have to rant about is the God forsaken steps that go above my knees. But once you get up the steps you can see the bay & it's beautiful! The tunnels are amazing!

There needs to be some more work, interactive activities, plaques , Rangers to interact with visitors, but it is a nice fort to see.
