Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse

You can't drive to the lighthouse . Walk the beach , take your own watercraft, or catch the ferry that runs hourly. Check the lighthouse website to see where the ferry is running from and dates/times.

Hillsboro Lighthouse , also known as “Big Diamond ,” is the brightest lighthouse in the world. It has a second-order bivalve Fresnel lens that emits a light measuring 5.5 mega-candles.

Great place for a family picnic . A secluded hide away for a quiet and relaxing day. Some days the water is so clear u can see sting rays and manatees !

Check the website or contact them at info@hillsborolighthouse.org. They ONLY do ONE tour a MONTH!!! Lighthouse ONLY accessed by boat, UNLESS a member of the clubhouse it is on the grounds of.

Only open on certain dates, usually 1-2 Saturdays per month. When they are open you can climb to the top, although you can't really see the lens.
