The Penguins inside a fascinating and the seals outside are adorable. Gets packed on the weekends but normally it's pretty easy to get around.
In addition to the Aquarium area. There is an IMAX theatre on-site. A great place to visit with friends or family members. The big tank is beautiful with colorful coral and fish species.
Hot day? Walk a couple of blocks over to the Rings Fountain in the Wharf District Parks . Cool off by running through 64 nozzles that shoot water up in the air. Great spot for kids (and pictures). Read more
Book their whale watching experience during summer. Its amazing! We did see 3 types of whales. Minky, humpback whales and the shuffleboard whales in their natural habitat.????
Admission is $32, but it’s a small aquarium so you go through it in 30min... so it’s like $1/min. They mostly have penguins, fish , sharks, rays, sea turtles , and other aquatic life. But not a lot else
Greatest place. Been coming here since I was a kid in the 80s. I walked in after 30 years and it SMELLS EXACTLY THE SAME! so awesome. Love this place.
I love just leaving the central tank for the end and just walk down while appreciating how flora and fauna changes together with deepness.
Great place for the family. Fantastic exhibits and shows. You can easily spend most of the the day there in awe at all the sea life on show.
Find the Dory fish ! Touch a ray! Check out the sea lions. Definitely do the aquarium experience for $5 more and check out a film . Totally worth it.
Came to Boston for business, so it is nice that I got free time for the weekends :) this is fun & good aquarium ~ the shark touch tank is always fun, 90 years old turtle , n must see the seals ♡
The seal tank in the back is awesome! It allows people to get REALLY close to these adorable animals.
I haven't been to the aquarium since the first started modification to the penguin exhibit . I got to being my parents my husband and my 3 y/o daughter and it was a great time
This aquarium really has everything!! People of any age would enjoy. It gets very crowded on friday and saturdays so maybe choose to go sunday if you don't like crowds.
Beautifully cared for with a nice selection of fish . Organization is a little confusing, but oh well . The massive central reef tank is very impressive. Go to a seal training session!
With 140 species living in the aquarium 's 200,000 gallon central tank, there's much to see. Visit Myrtle, the 580 pound sea turtle , who is a favorite of Mayor Menino (and us)! $20.95 with your BU ID Read more
Don’t miss the renovated Giant Ocean Tank . They’ve got all kinds of marine flora and fauna to see, including Myrtle the Green Sea Turtle , who’s lived there since 1970. Read more
With jellyfish , seal , shark, and penguin exhibits , plus a four-story Giant Ocean Tank , it's is a great place to bring the kids. There’s an IMAX theater that rotates movies on a 65-foot-tall screen. Read more
The animals seem happy. NEAQ seems to care a lot about conservation which is great; I LOVED the sting ray touch-tank.
Beautiful aquarium ! It is crowded on weekends. Do yourself a favor, buy your tickets online! Allot at least 2 hours to see everything!
Get your ticket for free through your public library . You also don’t have to wait to reserve a time. Really cool place for kids! And it wasn’t too packed.
Yes all your favourite sea-lovers are here from seals to penguins, but do you want to get really up close and personal? Of course you do. At the touch tank you can stroke rays and even sharks.
The giant aquarium has a giant sea turtle ! They also have tiny cute penguins getting fed in the afternoon.
Amazing renovations done in 2012 - 2013, tons of new fish added, very cool tank!! The Penguin exhibit is modified too, my favorite part, could watch them all day.
Become a member(free) and buy your tickets online, you'll save a ton of time instead of waiting in line ! Take a walk around and grab a ticket to the IMax for a little break.
Founded in 1969, the New England Aquarium is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. It is one of the premier attractions in Boston, with over 1.3 million visitors a year.
Advanced ticketing is BS. Even if you print out ur tickets. You will still have 2 wait in a line to pick up other tickets. No where on ur original home printed tickets does it tell you 2 do so. Bravo
You could spend a whole afternoon here (and I recommend it), but if you don't have that kind of time, visit the harbor seals in the outdoor tank for free.
Penguins are the best ! And so much education about ocean conservation! Loved it ! ❤️
The sphere in the middle is so neat, make sure to find the huge turtles in the fish tank!
Love seeing all the jelly fish and the touch tanks are fun. The sea lion shows are always cute !
Rebecca, near the beginning of the African penguin exhibit , will answer all of your questions about lifetime mating, their behavior and territorial personality.
Great aquarium located right next to the ocean! Arrive early & pre-order your tickets to beat the crowds inside & out!
I mean, they have penguins and mini sea horses. You simply can’t go wrong.
Everything is great. The variety of sea creatures are fascinating. Nicely setup in a spiral walkway.
Very diverse array of wildlife . The harbour seals at the observation tank near the entrance are cool.
Fun place to spend around 90 minutes. Great for kids.
DISCOUNT PRICES ON TICKETS now that the sea tank is being renovated. Don't worry, you won't even miss the tank as there is so much to look at and explore.
Cool experience for ocean lovers and kids, very busy on the weekend tho
Great place to take the kids for an afternoon. It is fairly large for an aquarium . My girls loved it.
Try to get here while they are feeding the penguins! It is actually really cute to see. Also make sure that you go to the petting area to touch a stingray !
Such a beautiful place. The jellysfishes and the pinguins were amazing. Also, you must visit the "Edge of The Sea" section where you can actually touch some animals.
Cool exhibits , but I wish they updated this place 100%... unlike the Museum of Science, nothing here changes, so there's really no reason to keep returning. And they keep jacking up the price!!
One of the "Cool Globe" installations sits right in front of the Aquarium . It's beautiful.
Many exhibits are, unfortunately, a bit outdated. But, they're redoing the Great Ocean Tank between Sept 2012 and July 2013. Aquarium will be open during construction .
Beware of the strollers. Also, all penguins are back in their "habitat" except the Little Blues . They're out back in a little room with a tub.
From September through June, the Boston Public Library 's Museum Pass Program gives out free passes that will admit up to four people into the New England Aquarium. Passes must be reserved by an adult. Read more
