Rising chef , beautiful place, delicious food. The soft cooked egg hummus with harrissa left me speechless. SUPERB! I'd also recommend the falafel sandwich and pretty much anything else.
Esquire's Best New Restaurant in America 2015 takes on modern Israeli with stellar cauliflower hummus , fresh pita , fresh falafel and can't-miss babaganoush . The winner: duck fat matzo ball soup .
My favorite dish was the KIBBEH NAYEH! As starters be sure to order the SALATIM and the ROASTED CAULIFLOWER. Save space for dessert , the WARM CINNAMON BABKA is amazing! P.S. The Pita is Delicious!!!
Once in NOLA, it’s a must go place. Israeli food with simple and very tasty ingredients. Everything we ordered from the menu was delicious. Service was not that great, servers are a little snob.
Shaya approaches Israeli cuisine as a grand mosaic , drawing influence and inspiration from North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Turkey and Greece.
Amazing meal. Best I had in New Orleans. Tabouleh and pickled vegetables are a must! Hummus is so creamy! Great vegetarian and vegan options
Shared dips , pickles , and other mezes sit at the literal and figurative center of the menu, overshadowed only by the steaming, pillowy discs of freshly baked pita that flow from the wood-burning oven. Read more
Excellent Middle Eastern food . A unique flair. Modern. Light. Sophisticated. Different. It's the Middle Eastern flavors you want and love but way interesting in terms of flavor & presentation.
Shaya redefined pita bread for me. It is fluffy, out of this world fantastic. I'd normally never order cabbage , whatever magic they use redefined that vegetable for me, too. Lamb hummus best I've had.
Absolutely amazing... pita was freshly made and was brought to table constantly!!! So many of the dips and mezze plates and hummus were omg spectacular + lamb entree was beyond perfect
French Moroccan w local ingredients & fresh Gulf seafood . Get the Curried Fried Cauliflower , Roasted Chicken , Red Snapper Chraime, Baba Ganoush , Lamb Keebab, Slow Cooked Lamb . Go for lunch or dinner .
Delicious food in a laid back setting. Get the fried labneh , cauliflower hummus , and the shakshuka is a must. Make a reservation for lunch or dinner .

Most options are gluten-free and tasty. Since I couldn't have the flatbread I got a selection of vegetables that I could use to dip with. The scallop hummus is worth trying!
Garden pea and tahini hummus delicious, and pita bread was very tasty. Apple and halloumi dish great. Roasted cauliflower also amazing. Good vegetarian/vegan options.
In-cre-di-ble! I wish I live nearby to come regularly. Everything was delicious, beautiful and very well made. Their pitta bread is the best of my life.
amazing food. it's so simple, but it's done so well . hard to find something on the menu that isn't great. i could eat that avocado toast every day!
The lamb and beef tartare was amazing. Get a bunch of the small plates to split with your party - I loved the brussel sprouts and the baba ganoush
As a meat eater, i was talked into trying Shaya by my vegan friend and I loved everything my friend ordered!
Excellent through and through. Great for sharing and tasting a variety of dishes. Recommend the tartar .
EVERYTHING! Avocado and whitefish toast , cauliflower hummus , pita bread , specialty cocktails , outdoor patio ...
My new favorite restaurant in New Orleans, by far. You must get the Avocado Toast , which is topped with smoked whitefish . A great appetizer .
Had a fantastic meal. Loved the freshly baked pita , cauliflower hummus , tabbouleh , and the Israeli Chardonnay .
Probably the best meal of my life. I wanted to curl up and live inside the pita .
Beware their homemade pita bread will make all other pitas taste like cardboard. It is a must to try here.
Reservations required. The three or five- dip options plus a hummus are enough to make a meal for two. Vegetarian options galore.
Awesome place for vegans . The server will even help you out with finding vegan dishes . The chef will even modify dishes to make them vegan .
Don't overlook the Persian rice - it's the perfect addition to your larger entree item, and it's delicious enough to eat on it's own.
Great for dates..get hummus . Artichoke toast and don't miss dessert
All the food tastes delicious, but timing on brining it out was a problem. The Kibbeh Nayeh and beef were standouts.
The hummus is incredible. It’s a must!! And that presentation ????????
Best pita bread I've ever had! Try it with the curried cauliflower or soft boiled egg w/Harissa hummus .
Take a piece of your pita , scoop up a nice amount of labaneh, and dip it in your olive oil zaatar . You're welcome.
You’re already walking in to the bed Za’atar this planet can offer. Just order the Faqra Arak to go with it.
There were several different hummus selections. We had curried cauliflower & soft egg . Both amazing!!
Amazing. Everything. Killer presentation, excellent service, incredibly food. Make reservation .
After radical food poisoning for me and my fellow diners, I cannot recommend. Interesting take on Israeli & Middle Eastern cuisine . Nice staff and decor.
Everything is awesome! The food & drinks are spot on!
Eat here once and you'll dream about their pita and hummus for the rest of your days.
Fried chicken hummus ? Fried chicken hummus !
The best meal I’ve had in Nola. The pita and curried cauliflower are the best pita and hummus I’ve ever had. Chicken schnitzel fries incredible. Everything else awesome.
Hummus with cauliflower , the falafel sandwich , shakshouka, and of course a Malka blonde.
Everything we had was so full of delicious flavor!!!
Make sure to get plenty of hummus and fresh pita .
Delish!! We didn't even leave room for mains or dessert !!
I had a good experience here but didn't walk away loving it.
Hummus is the best, especially the lamb . Share everything!
Cauliflower hummus , kibbeh , baba ganouj, Moroccan carrots . Leave room for dessert !
The lamb ragu hummus was the best thing i had! You'll eat your weight in bread
Bar is first come first serve, which is great because reservations are required and tough to get.
Great complimentary pita with olive oil and condiments with refreshing cucumber water is a great way to wait for this sabich pita sandwich. - Anthony Scudese
Delicious, up-market middle-eastern restaurant. Brussel sprout hummus and arugula salad were delicious for brunch. Cocktails and house sodas also great. Try the pineapple eucalyptus soda. - C S
Some of the best Mediterranean in New Orleans (and of my life). Great hummus. Hummus w/ lamb platter is delicious. Nice servers and chill atmosphere. - Nazary Nebeluk
Cool record shop along Magazine Street. Great place to window shop and you can find some great classic shirts, stickers, and other memorabilia if you're not into vinyl records. - Ryan Eugene
