Melbourne is a great town ! With many neighborhoods to visit- Fitzroy, St. Kilda, Melbourne CBD, Chinatown... Go for a long walk. Take a tram ride. Checkout an art museum . Admire the architecture .
I have done numerous rock band photo shoot performing at Fed Sq. My greatest moment was the Painters & Dockers singing "The Boy Who Lost His Jocks On Flinders St Station" with the station in the back!
Visit the little funny shaped square building at the corner of Flinders & Swanston Streets, this is the Visitor Info Centre & say hi to the lovely staff there and perhaps book yourself on a day tour !
Grab yourself some takeaway food and sit here to soak up the Melbourne atmosphere. You'll start to appreciate this city by just watching.
All I read here is free Wifi , but take some time and look at the ground. The most wonderful stones I have ever seen in whole Australia! Everyone is unique and they come from WA.

Keep your eyes open in the Square - there's always some kind of amazing public art ! At the moment (August-September 2012), don't miss the iceberg stereograms scattered around the place.
There's free WiFi , though I don't use it. There's a massive screen that varies what's on it. There's also a few restaurants and very close to trams and other places.

Great public space , visit the Victoria galleries for a taste of aboriginal and contemporary Australian art .
Love music frequently.. Great place to bring your lunch , or just grab a drink and sit and tap your toes.

The wifi is next to useless if you are inside anywhere! You have to stand in the middle of the square to get any signal! It is optu$, so par for the course!

Fun to wander around lots going on, fun place on a sunny day
Going to the ACMI events is always a great choice on the weekends. Parking on the next building at flinders st is the cheapest one.
The cobblestones are particularly good for rocking a child in a pram to sleep while you enjoy the view ( and a glass of wine !)
