When it comes to hangovers, Achilles Heel giveth (with amazing whiskey sours and other cocktails at night) and taketh away (serving strong cold brew and pour over coffee the next morning)
exquisite and well-worn, as comfortable as a fine pair of traveling shoes . perfect for a midweek break to decompress from city life but keep it on the down-lo and don't show up with a large group.
Seasonal menu , so this tip might be irrelevant in a few weeks, but just trust them. This was listed as “asparagus , spelt, agretti” and it was the most wonderful not-salad I have ever put in my mouth.
Great neighborhood bar serving up some delicious delicious lasagna and other small plates .
FANTASTIC for early/late afternoon drinks and small plates . Very good cheeses and charcuterie . Owned by Marlowe & Sons peeps so great ambience and high quality food, wine and cocktails .
Incredible vibe, incredible oysters , incredible cocktails . Get the pretzels with beer cheese , even if you don't see it on the menu!
One of the most creative cocktail places anywhere. Try the Turf Cocktail or Fernet Old Fashioned . And definitely get some oysters and pretzels with beer cheese .
Cocktails change often, but if the Zelda is on the menu (gin , cynar, and herbsaint) snatch it up. Cheese plates are lovely too and the bread served with is perfect. While away a hazy Saturday here.

Great hole in the wall bar vibe with dope tunes , excellent bloody Mary's and surprisingly good bar food (butter bean toast special was ????????)
Super solid spot….truly neighborhood place but with the most tasty sophisticated cocktails and and and beautiful sexy hipsters
As a manhattanite this is the end of the earth. Might as well be Laguardia. BUT everything was insane. Worth the adventure. Get a house old-fashioned
Grab a coffee and Marlow & Daughters snack on your way to the Ferry , or enjoy a refreshing cocktail with oysters and other delicious snacks in the window Read more
Tucked away close to the water on West. Really great spot! Great cocktails . Really chill place to take a date. Sit back, grab a drink and relax!
A chill neighborhood bar , Achilles Heel is run by the same group as Marlow & Sons and as such, has a quality daytime coffee program, also featuring George Howell. No food and not a work space. Read more
Not only is this a cozy place for a night cap, their furry friend cuteyboi is a regular and always up for a belly rub
Great local spot . Mostly a cocktail bar , but they have quite an assortment of beers , as well . Recommended for cyclists especially (directly on bike route).
The best sound track in Greenpoint and some damn fine drinks too
I'd have to disagree about not being a good work space but then again I like a good hum to blend into which this space provided while studying, sipping on some java, & noshing on a charcuterie plate .
This place feels like a poem. Truly immaculate vibes. A perfect neighborhood spot that I would defend with my life.
super delicious cocktail specials and handsome, dancy bartenders that like to get down. and, theres a park on the pier that's great for making out 50s style.
Fireplace . Great small dishes. Wonderful DJs . Favourite bar .
One of the best bars in NYC, especially in the winter months. Also serves the best clam chowder I've ever had
Andrew tarlows newest NYC addition ok the edge of my block providing delicious spirits and noshe 's with the quaintness of Marlow and the wythe hotel #nookandcranniesnyc
Wood-burning fireplace keeps the place woodsy and hot in the winter months. Cocktails are well-balanced and considered.
This casual neighborhood bar is built in and inspired by one of the dockworks bars of the 1900s that served nearby East River shipyards. Read more
Great selection of Grimm ales . Everything’s great.
Chill coffee bar by day, chill cocktail bar by night. A very relaxing atmosphere deserves a trust rating: http://bit.ly/1lgZHxP
They always have a good, slightly fizzy red wine around!
Get a beer . Split the ham and cheese plate . Sit in the sun. Pick up a half loaf of sourdough to go.
Nice bar unsurprisingly very hipster . Cocktails are well made.
Small but cute bar , DJ on Saturday nights is amazing, somehow tons of people but still room for dancing
Great spot to grab a cold brew, or any other coffee , on your way to the East River Ferry
Best oysters in Greenpoint, yeah even better then you 5 leaves....solid cocktails also.
The place is a real treasure. The staff is incredibly friendly and nice, but the wine selection needs work.
When it’s cold out and the fireplace is roaring, no better spot. Underrated food from a tiny kitchen.
Lovely spot. Make sure to try one of the house cocktails-- I suggest the Fitzgerald.
free water, good seating on a Thursday night, make sure you know the drink you’re ordering
Cocktails change frequently, but the sandwiches live on forever in our hearts
solid cocktails , great vibe! staff was very friendly !
Super cozy low key spot. The Family Sour is ????
Amazing cocktails , and they will make up a new drink upon request.
Why yes, we will take our butter-drizzled oysters fireside, thank you very much. Read more
Really cute vibe and low key place. Must come back
This place has the coziest vibe ever. I love it.
Great atmosphere, low light , great for dates!
Great bar . Good dark and stormy with fresh lime juice .
Good wine list and comfortable atmosphere .
Great ambiance but not cheap . The food served here is limited but high quality.
chill bar , a little overcrowded on the weekends though
White fish platter and white sandwich are excellent for snacks. Cocktails: Delicious Moscow mules, old fashioneds, and French 75s. - Johanna
The ones with ricotta are really good. I love that they don't put pressure on you to leave (as at Roberta's). Service is fantastic! Be there early, there would be a line at 5:00 - Juliana Ardila
Flaky bread & labneh a must! Great meal, a welcome addition to the neighborhood. - Marisa
