Awesome beach . This is not a drinking beach like Folly , but you can go to Coconut Joes and sit on the rooftop and have a delicious Margarita !

Before you head to the beach check the tide tables first. If the tide allows, try to get there 1 hour after high tide and setup your chairs about 10 feet from the waves .

Five distinct beach towns comprise the city of Charleston. You'll find a family-friendly haven at Isle of Palms.

Past visitors who are returning - there is no more Red & White Grocery on the island now - constructing a new market but will not be finished in time for Summer 2013

Boardwalk Inn at Wild Dunes resort is a very comfortable place to stay. Extremely family friendly .

Stop by Coconut Joes on your way out for great food and drinks! Or for something quick, there is Joes to Go!

Try the Windjammer for burgers . Acme for wings. Dogs have to be on a leash. Hefty fines if no leash. Lifeguard at 20th st.

Watched their lifeguard training , very awesome... Just remember, lifeguards are not a substitution for watching your kids. Stay safe!

Do yourself a favor and grab lunch or dinner at Huck's after the beach . So yummy!

Acme Cantina on IOP is a great place for good food, drinks and good people!

Bigger waves than Sullivan's Island but not a lot of restaurants in walking distance.

Great place to take sunrise photos during the winter. Sun rises 110 degrees at 42nd avenue

Less crowded and more choppy waves than folly . Crazy what irene threw up on the beach head though. Found a few conch shells, which never happens.

Get a Charleston County Parks Gold Pass for free parking all year.

Perfect place to decompress.

Go to Coconut Joe 's and Poe's Tavern. Both have amazing food and atmosphere

Be sure to visit Bubba the parrot!

Dogs are allowed on the beach year round. They must be on a leash.

Go to 42nd Avenue turn right. Parking lot at the end allows for about 12 vehicles including golf carts.

This is a nice beach . Not a ton of people, but not empty. The water is nice and the beach is clean .
