A great place for family fun! You're able to touch sharks, hang with orangoutang's and feed giraffes ! Also, stop by the dolphin show , which is free when you purchase your admission ticket!
The Indianapolis Zoo is the nation's only accredited combined zoo , aquarium and botanical garden . Visit the amazing International Orangutan Center, Dolphin Pavilion, shark touch tank, and much more.
Don't miss the dolphin presentation!! Lots of events throughout the day!! Orangutan enclosure was awesome.. cool animal chat shows!! But still, not the best!!
Parking is $6 and weekend admission is $21. It's a fun little zoo . You can make it through the whole place in about 2-3 hours.
This zoo is incredible! Yearly pass is so worth! Can always come back and find something new to see!
Great zoo . Only down is you have to buy tickets for everything now days (buy a pack of them and you should be good). Make sure you go to the gardens next door free with zoo ticket.
It is the first institution to be triple-accredited as a zoo , aquarium and botanical garden . The Zoo 's Oceans exhibit features a shark touch tank, dolphin show , and the International Orangutan Center
Super HOT during the summer, nice breeze in the shade. Ton of variety -- lions, giraffes , elephants, zebras, cheetahs, rhinos, and a ton of other Africian animals. Check the schedule for feedings.
Between parking , food, and the tickets you have to purchase for rides, the Indianapolis Zoo will definitely nickel and dime you to death...my advice, if you go more than once a year, buy a membership!
The exhibits continue to improve and amaze ages of all. Check out the orangutangs, budgies, and dolphin underwater exploratory.
Check if the dolphin exhibition and rides are working before booking your tickets. I went in October and it wasn't
Don't forget to ask for a ticket for the dolphin show...it's free with admission, but you can't get in without a ticket. If you come here often, the season family pass is a great deal.
Bring a picnic lunch or snacks to eat in the picnic area . Visit during Xmas at the zoo and zooboo I love it there. Love the penguins.

Love the dolphin show , and the Plains. I'm looking forward to the new macaw exhibit this summer!
We went to Christmas at the Zoo . The zoo was decorated with lights and Christmas decorations , it was adorable. Unfortunately it was dark so the animals weren't very active. Probably more fun for kids .
If its hot out... from the entrance do the walrus and equarium center. Then walk to your Northwest towards the elephants. On the rebound youll catch the splash park and dolphin This will keep you cool
Be there when the gates are open and skip the aquarium and go for outside animals especially in the summer. They are more active early before it gets hot.
Dont miss the baby elephant and baby zebra!Small zoo but a great walking path for those who dont want to be bothered walking elsewhere. Safe from biting dogs, perverts and cars!
Everything, but the conservation efforts for the tigers, elephants, orangutans, and dolphins are awesome.
A great place for family fun. Check out the dolphin show which is free with a ticket purchase!
The tigers we're so active. Make sure you check out the underwater dome for the dolphin show !!
Please don't go before 11 a.m. - I like the quiet , wide open spaces .
Tigers were great! So graceful and beautiful. Get their early for the "training " times..they get pretty crowded . There's also gibbons, bats and a bear .
Tons of indoor exhibits for hot days. Face painting and airbrush tattoos for kids. Collectable penny machines. $15.25 for adult tickets, $6 to park . Amazing time.
The orangutan exhibit is now open to the public, so be sure to go check out our newest friends!
Awesome place! Air conditioned , small and gets crowded quickly, but worth it. Tons of lizards, snakes and other reptiles. Look for a beautiful zebra finch.
All the exhibits are cool. Very affordable . Good for a date or with your family.
During hot weather, the Zoo has misting stations for visitors near Forests and in the Plains Biomes, as well as the Splash Park presented by Kroger. Please take advantage of these opportunities to coo
Family, friends, Zoobilation, animals, sharks! The food is terrible every year but they do serve local beer .
Have kids? Best restroom is up near the "Plaines" exhibit . Great to hit before you get on the train ! The one by Dolphin Exhibit is always busy!
Zoo was packed with a lot of people. Animals were lazy by the afternoon so I would suggest going first thing in the morning or right before they close.
Super HOT But Super FUN!! Love the splash pad, dolphin show and nursing room for breast feeding and changing diapers!!
New baby giraffe has been out and about so far this summer (6/2011). Bring $1 if you want to feed the baby giraffe (available mid-day most days).
Summer 2011 hours, zoo is open 9am, this is an excellent time to view the animals before it gets too crowded , and while the animals are active...
Go on days that aren't too hot to get the best views of all the animals! Check out free community days if you are low on cash...Get tickets for the dolphin show early!
Beautiful zoo ! They have added SO much since I was a kid! Loved it!
The zoo is not only fun but a beautiful space as well !
Great exhibit ! Get to touch baby dog sharks. Use only 2 fingers to avoid the shark Nazi haha. Sea lions, polar bears , fish and penguins.
When the zoo first opened in 1964 was considered a children’s zoo because of the very small exhibits. This zoo can be identified by the Dutch windmill at the entrance.
It's nice always adding stuff on just sad see the animals so sad we always are the reason why animals can't survive in the wild..
So incredible. Be sure to check out butterfly exhibit . Membership is best option financially.
The cheetah's only play in the early morning so get there early. Otherwise you'll only see a pile of furry spots in the shade.
Lovely and well laid out zoo . Great habitats
This place is awesome! The dolphin show is a must!
The polar bear was delicious.....I mean huge and amazing to watch.
Pretty decent menu. Check your zoo map for a free kids meal voucher . Super warm inside. Kids play zone outside. Eat right before dolphin show times or during while the crowd is down!
Extremely expensive but lots to see and do. Food is way overpriced, bring your own. Check out butterflieS during their short time at the gardens !
Fall is a great time to visit the zoo ! Smaller crowds and cooler weather, and a lot of the animals like it better too.
Best seat is at the very top, you get to see everything!!!! - Hannah Huffman
White River Gardens and the Canal together make the most beautiful and my favorite spot in all of Indy. - Brandy Skelton
Great trails that run by a creek. Very large playground and open areas to play - Chad Feaster
Kombo rollercoaster is a lot of fun! Younger kids may want the seats near the front, older kids might enjoy the back! It goes faster! - McKenzie Wilson
Be sure to check out what the orangutans are up to: playing with big cardboard boxes, snacking on fresh produce, or enjoying the crafts made by visitors like paper flowers or paper chains. - Julie Sawyer
They have bicycles and single bikes for rent. I really like them.. They also have boats for rent ... I like the river ❤️ - Bero Bassa
