If arriving from another country , you can't buy a regular Oystercard here. Ticket office only sells visitor Oyster cards which cost more. Buy a ticket and purchase an Oyster card at your destination.
Get print at home tickets. The queues are unbelievable. Also, make sure you read the monitors before you cross the barrier, no info once you're in. Pure genius!!!
Southern, Thameslink & Gatwick Express trains can take you into different areas of London. Stations include, Victoria, Clapham Jct, London Bridge , St Pancras. Plus Luton Airport and south to Brighton
Don't be shy to ask for help. Different companies run different trains at different prices/times to the same places. If you don't want to stand in line , ask an attendant and use the ticket machines !
You can use contactless payment cards and Oyster cards for trains to London; both for the Gatwick Express and the cheaper Southern or Thameslink trains .
If you do save money by not getting the Gatwick Express , spare a thought for everyday people and not block the doors or put your suitcase on a seat and stopping people from. Sitting down..

Get Zone 1 to 6 travelcard (first capital connect only) into London to London bridge , Farringdon, Kings Cross £13.50 off peak. £10 weekends! Then you can travel all day till 04:30 following day!!!

Extremely confusing to navigate if it's your first time visit. Try to download a map of the train diagram before you arrive for less stress and more ease.
Beware of timetable when booking flights - a 10 minute late arrival, we missed the last Express of the night, caught a slower train to London & no District line home from Victoria. Unlucky I know
Cheaper fares on the Southern rail line to London Victoria and just about as fast as Gatwick Express .
Much improved station since it was modernised.Wider platforms and much better layout makes it an easier to navigate airport station.Plenty of trains to London and south coast.
Buy your tickets in advance using the train line app and collect them from the two dedicated collection machines to the right of the horrible queue. Much quicker
It does exactly what it says on the tin! Gets you into the heart of London quickly & reasonable prices. Always get this to Victoria
Very easy to get on a train to the underground, just use the machines don’t sister your time and money going through a vender
Busy concourse? Look for the "Tickets for collection" machine - you can also purchase tickets on these and they have little or no queue
Don't be misguided by the Gatwick Express signs. You can still buy tickets to National Rail trains , they are £4 cheaper and only take 1-6 minutes longer. Mind the queues!
If you are traveling to London use a contactless card including Apple pay and avoid queueing for a ticket

Thank goodness for the helpful staff at the ticket machines , the options are a wee bit confusing... But the staff will tell you what the best ticket is...!
Lifts down to the platform are all the way back in the terminal building and new ticket barriers just create queues, train staff need to go on a customer service course!
Buying your tickets on Trainline only saves time if you pick them up before your return flight, i.e. before you leave.
The Gatwick express is great! Don't forget you can use your young person's railcard on it!
You can catch trains from here that will take you straight to London Victoria !
The fact that you have to exit the station after you have entered in order to access the lift to platform 4. Why would you need a lift to platform 4? Because you have a lot of baggag
If you have bought ticket for GTW Express don't board the southern train by mistake. You'll never get a seat.

Contactless cards work so no need to buy a ticket for non-Gatwick Express trains .
Coming from LGW? Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to the GTW Express , so much less hustle then Southern!
I recommend pre-buying your train tickets as the line is long..
If you do a regular commute through here your London ticket (monthly or annual) lest you travel on the gatwick express for free. You'll still be late though

Several train services to London but some are sold at high fares for unknown reasons.
If you dare to stop for even a second to read the departures information an officious member of staff will shout at you.
Have your ticket ready for the gates otherwise you will cause needless congestion

Gatwick express to Victoria is not worthy. Trains to London bridge are cheaper And faster.

If you're getting a bus back toward Crawley exit via the London end of the platform and use the stairs at the end of the Transit station.
Easy parking and easy access .
Heading to London? Don't crowd around the bottom of the stairs with everyone else. There's usually more room towards the back of the train .
DO NOT get your tickets on the train , only buy them on the train if your are going by Express, Southern Trains and First trains require you to buy them at the ticket desk / machine
Railway station are inside the airport . Express train to London Victoria station runs every 15 minutes!
The ticket machines have moved, they're now behind you on the left as you come out of the south terminal
