Great morning exercise riding the bike trail
This is a great location! Not only do you have American River access, the recreation area is great for parties, picnics , dog walking etc...my older sister had her wedding here and it was beautiful!
Best stretch of the parkway, hands down. Go at dusk or dawn for a walk and you'll be treated to sights of deer, turkey , coyotes , and more. The park itself is spacious and beautiful. $5 parking .

Water fountain , restrooms and picnic benches (for stretching or collapsing) between the 13 and 13.5 mile markers...HEAVEN!

The park is good for movie events if you have little ones just bring the bug spray and something comfy to rest on and maybe food if you get hungry - Lisa Freitag
I love this park. Tons of shade, tennis courts, great playgrounds for the kids, a TIRE SWING (!!) and a LifeTrail system. Sure it's geared toward older folks, but the exercises can be adapted! - Courtney Mayhew
