Bread & croissants au chocolat as tasty as in France or Switzerland, very nice quality, good latte and cute place (bread starting at 4.50 USD, croissant au chocolat at 4)
Or washers is one of the best bakeries in NYC. Food is always fresh & delicious. During peak hours there’s a line , it’s worth the wait. Rye bread , caraway sticks, and black & white cookies are A+
Fun to say and (most importantly) fun to eat, the holiday challah doesn’t play by traditional rules. It has pistachios and a just-right smattering of cranberries , golden raisins and orange zest . Read more
The Hanukkah jelly doughnuts are great. Nice dough , and excellent jam variety. They are not the most photogenic, but they are huge (which may explain why they are on the pricy side).
A great local bakery ! Their black & whites and rainbow cookies are a favorite in our house.
Everything is good here. Their black and white cookies are the best in the city .
The morning bun is incredibly good - croissant dough packed with gooey cinnamon flavor. Can't recommend it enough. They also hand-fill jelly doughnuts !
Excellent bread , scones and pain au chocolate . Even their coffee is excellent and not a lot of bakeries do coffee well . Five stars!
So much goodness here but don’t miss their New York seeded rye — best rye bread I’ve ever had!
An over 90-year-old bakery with some great, uncommon breads. Wine breads , ryes , and sourdoughs are very nice.
Chewy donuts filled to order - amazing. Ale bread made w/Sixpoint Otis Stout - great. Seeded NY Rye - awesome. Wish this was in my hood. Worth a stop anytime you're in the UES.
Cute place hidden on 78th St. between 1st and 2nd. I like the coffee and the peanut butter / honey sandwich . The staff is really nice, too.
Jelly donuts are super delicious. Its not too artificially sweet, very fresh and fully filled.
The uncommon breads are awesome but the jelly donuts are divine. A hidden gem on a side street. Run :...don't walk
Delicious bread and doughnuts ! I love that they fill the doughnut of your choice on the spot- so fresh!
Very good coffee . Also - they inject the jelly donuts right in front of you with your choice of 5 delicious jellies ! Amazing!
The hand filled donut with red raspberry jelly is to die for. You must go in and get it!!
Their website states that Orwasher’s Bakery is New York’s original artisan bakery .
Fresh baguettes , breads and other baked goods . Everything is excellent.
Great breads !! & awesome small pastries - my fave are the almond croissants !!
Best jelly filled donuts in NYC. Go with black raspberry filled chocolate .
Cute guy with gold nails and sweetest grandma whose eyes crinkled when she smiled. Also, great rainbow cookies .
Everything is amazing but you can't leave without having a freshly filled jelly donut !
Whether you're getting challah or a jelly filled donut , this is the place to go on the UES
We recommend making your next sandwich with Orwasher's beer bread , especially for those unwilling to crack open a brew during their lunch break.
Sesame Bagel with cream cheese , banana bread , donut filled with strawberry jelly .
I love just standing in a bakery and smelling the bread . It's olfactory comfort food . The bread here is delicious and diverse without being artsy and pretentious . I'll be back often. Read more
Try the Jelly Doughnuts (they fill them on the spot with your choice of filling)!
Sticky bun is very good. Jelly donuts were a little disappointing as their was barely any jelly
Bread samples and friendly staff . Donuts were good and reasonably priced.
Donuts are good! Want to go back and try the black and white cookies
Friendly staff pretty good bread - wish they had more variety but they are good at what they do
Their black and white cookies are always fresh and completely life-changing
Sour cherry filled is incredible. Great if you're looking for something tart .
Try the whole grain bread . It is worth the cost, as it lasts for weeks in the fridge and tastes amazing toasted with avocado and cheese
They take the wonder out of jelly filled donuts and then fill it with jelly
Easily one of the best baguettes I've had in NYC.
All the bread is amazing. Especially LOVE the little sourdough rolls.
Surprise of the visit, peanut butter and spelt s'wich is good!
Definitely try the Sourdough , the beer bread , and the Cabernet Rustica!
Amazingly good bakery and great coffee !
The jelly doughnuts here are incredible, plain and simple.
Jelly doughnuts are worth a trip out of your way!
Orwasher’s delivers its loaves daily to gourmet markets including Citarella, Dean and Deluca, Zabar’s and Gourmet Garage . Translation: you want them in your kitchen.
Got some Sufganiyot here for my boss, looked so good couldn't pass them up, a little pricey but were a huge hit at work, yummy as can be of course too.
