You can't go wrong with anything on a skewer here. Wasn't overwhelmed by the peas soup (made with chick peas ) but everything else was fantastic. Prices were great! Samey with pumpkin in picture
Two words: lamb ribs . Get them with fat. There's no difference between those and the ones without fat except the price. The Israeli salad is also good. The manti is also highly recommended.
Everything is delicious, inexpensive . We ordered a whole bunch of things from the menu and shared. Lamb dishes were amazing.
A culinary delight. Great, authentic food w/ excellent customer service. FYI: the customers stare at you if your a black patron. Other than that, excellent food at a very affordable price .
my favorites: green pilaf . lamb ribs shish kebabs . veal . lagman (half portion). share it all.
Great neighborhood kosher russian/georgian place!
Come with 3 or more people. Share a few salads , a few Samcys , Green Pilaf , Grilled Tomatoes , Lulya Kebabs all around.
Food here is pretty good. Impressive selection of different types of shashlik.
Everyone start with the chebureki . anything on a skewer is good, especially the fatty lamb ribs .

Get the plov, a rich Uzbek rice pilaf flavored with onion and lamb .
Green pilaf is a rare find in NYC and is my top choice here.
Find fatty meat kebabs (yay, lamb ribs !) grilled over a charcoal trough as you watch, turnovers bursting with potatoes and meat, rice pilafs , and random other Uzbek and Russian recipes
Real loose tea here (mostly oolong) with Soviet-style sugar bits!
Uzbek Jewish place - simply fantastic, all 45 permutations of lamb that they have.
Bring a big squad so you can try everything, especially the green pilaf
Try the lulya kebab here; think of it as a meatball meets skewer that's exceptionally succulent. Featured in Cheap Eats 2011!
Thing to go for are differently stuffed cheburekis and dill tomatoe sauce plus baltica.
Pumpkin samsi, kebabs , rice pilaf ... Everything!
