Great well planned space, animals are healthy and in very well maintained spaces. Pack a little picnic when you come and enjoy the day with family. Avoid weekends if you're not into screaming kids!
If you are here early on a weekend or school holiday - skip the coffee line at Meerkat Manor and take a 3 min walk to Elephant Village . No line . Enjoy the morning monkey and pelican sounds.
as far as zoos go it was nice. enclosures were mostly outdoor with reasonable amount of space. as you can guess many unique animals like platypus, tasmanian devil, kangaroos and koalas
Can’t recommend the kangaroo encounter highly enough. Our group of three spent half an hour hanging out with 6 kangaroos & 2 very knowledgeable staffers—one of the best parts of my trip!
Exhibits are generally large (which is great for the animals) so expect to do a lot of walking. The new lemur habitat lets you get very close!
Best zoo I have been too. The animals have good enclosures which hide them from the public. Large area and very green.
Our membership was the best money we've ever spent. Entry to all three Victorian zoos , plus all the main zoos in the rest of the country ! If you go more than three times a year you will save.
Great day out, just be aware that exhibits close 30 min prior to zoo closure. You need to plan to take that into account.
I love the variety of animals and meet the keeper sessions. You just have to plan your visit so you can go to as much meet the keeper sessions as possible.
Membership is worth it! Last Summer I came here every week with my daughter. We love the animals for much! Such a beautiful place ❤️
The recent renovations at Park area & the addition of the Wiggles dance floor has made this Zoo above & beyond. Going to be a great Summer!
If you have little kids make sure you have a pit stop at Keeper Kids (just to your right when coming in main entrance). Perfect for cold/hot or rainy days. Read more
The animals seem well looked after & the majority have plenty of space. The cafe is awesome, freshly made sausage rolls & pastries 😎
The butterfly space is very cute , if you bring a sweet perfume all the butterflies were posing in you 😉
Great for kids - kids areas , clean grounds. Arrive early to get parking space and enjoy a full day out
Great outing for the day. Parking also available at the north entrance
On weekends, this becomes one of the best collections of exotic prams and strollers in Victoria.
Beautiful. Awesome exhibitions . Worth the money. You need at least 3 hours to fully enjoy it.
Apart from the overpriced entry fee, the rest are excellent. The newborn baby elephant is adorable! So does the new seal and penguin enclosure . Lawn under the tree shade is ideal for picnic . Read more
Be at the Lion Park by 1630, when the person announces that the exhibits are closed the Lions will roar.
Cue early for the shows. Otherwise enjoy it is a truly wonderful zoo which is nicely spread out!
Animals belong in their natural habitat not in a prison for our viewing pleasure.
Take a $2 coin (or change) for 5hr parking . Flat fee. I forgot & had 2 get cash out from ATM in food court , inside zoo , ($2.50 fee), exchange for change in gift shop , return to car & back again. Poo.
Beautiful gardens to stroll through while visiting - so many animals you never get tired of visiting... kids now enter free. Read our review Read more
Great zoo . Go during the week if you can less people
Really nice, open spaces . The animals are so close, terrific views .
Such a fun place with a stop on the hop-on hop-off bus line .
Rather interesting display... The rare and dangerous redus headious. Careful, they bite!
The butterfly house is amazing!
The staff are amazing and the twilight's concert withJBT was awesome
Fantastic ENVIRONMENT and layout, highly recommended
Park by the train/tram lot and make sure to have change on you as the parking meters are $2 for 5 hrs.
Cold day with the Sun shining is the best time to see the Animals out and about and active!! *8vD
There is hours of fun for young ones in the new Keeper Kids area . It's indoors topsoil head there if the weather is bad!
Best place for food is the asian selection near the elephant enclosure .
Some how I did not enjoy as much as I should have. The zoo map was very confusing and not a lot of people around to help.
Great for Photographers
Show student id for discount
Lion, tigar, snow leopard are all on holiday, away from the zoo till March!!
Love it! You need at least 3 hours to finish it though...
If you think it's too expensive to get in buy a friends of the zoo pass all zoos for a year! Best value!
The new bakery in the plaza has improved the catering choices on offer. Currant bun hit with the kids
Everything. It's excellent !
bring your own food. its the golden rule.
Baby monkeys & meerkats at the moment. The baby elephants are still small enough to be adorable too!
Get the @ZoosVictoria membership - awsome value esp if u have kids

Great place for a family day out.
