This truly should be rated #1 for Italian. Hand made pasta is fantastic. Found this place after a trip to Italy and it’s as close as it gets to the real deal in San Diego.

Great restaurant N Little Italy & probably the best italian restaurant N san diego,Their potato gnocchi with Ai Formagi creamy cheese sauce is extremely good! Penne Arabbiatta is delicious as well !

Their pastas are great in taste and quality. The gnoccis with black ink are absolutely delicious, I was a but unlucky and mine were a but overcooked but it was extremely busy. Great service also!

Everything! The pasta is amazing. When we are in the San Diego area we go at least 2 or 3 times. Check out the Happy Hour , AMAZING! You get to taste so many things. I highly recommend this restaurant .

Their portions are huge, but food and service were great 👍🏻we've got the melanzane alla parmigiana and penne pasta with bencotto sauce , both were amazing 👍🏻👍🏻

Everything we had today was amazing! Eggplant parmigiano,homemade ravioli stuffed w goat cheese & porcini mushrooms , shrimp squid ink pasta and pannacotta w blackberry puree everything was fantastic!

This was some of the best Italian I have had! On par with NY’s top restaurants . The crab filled ravioli with lobster parmesan sauce topped with caviar !

Great homemade bread . Try the gnocchi , you'll love it. I got the gnocchi stuffed with Gorgonzola with pink pancetta sauce .

I was surprised at how bad the customer service was. Pasta was great, but I value service and the experience. We were also super rushed through dinner . They wanted diners in and out quickly.

If it's packed out just grab a seat next door at their sister restaurant (Monello), the grub is just as good!

Love the fresh homemade pasta which you can combine with many sauces like pesto , al formaggi or bencotto.

Get the lamb ragu with homemade pasta . Fantastically rustic yet delicately executed dish. Desserts are meh.

A must try dish tagliatelle al nero di seppia from the special menu. It's a squid ink pasta w/shrimp.

Try the Squid Ink Tagliatelle - This was as good as the hype. Perfect al Dente . Great flavor. The shrimp burst with a bite.

Pancetta sauce, say yes. The squid ink dishes are good. I would skip the salads . It's more like modern Italian, a twist on some traditional dishes .

Good spot for dinner . Make a reservation ! The place is always packed. Even at the bar you should reserve a seat. The gnoochi, the pollo pizzaiola, and the mashed potatoes all good!

Pasta made in house daily. Get the Insalata Bencotta to start

Incredible food. The bomba is excellent. Try the Tiramisu . They use real mascarpone . It is the best I've had in many years.

Don't come here if you're expecting a traditional Italian restaurant . Food is good but modern Italian dishes .

Pricey and mediocre. Atmosphere is a little too much like a chain restaurant . Nothing special.

Calm down with the beer prices. Charging almost 10 bucks for local beers is insane.

Very disappointed with this restaurant . ordered two glasses of wine and got one.ordered food and didn’t get mushrooms for it which we had to ask for it. Our waiter never checked on us or anything!
