この仏殿は、もともと芝（東京都港 区）の増上寺にあった、徳川秀忠夫人崇源院(浅井三姉妹の江)の霊屋（たまや）を譲渡されたもので、正保4年（1647年）に建長寺に移築されている。仏殿の中央には本尊の地蔵菩薩坐像が祀られている。国 の重要文化財 。
