【国宝 】 全体が胡粉（ごふん）で白く塗られ、「許由と巣父（きょゆうとそうほ）」や「舜帝朝見の儀（しゅんていちょうけんのぎ）」など細かい彫刻 がほどこされています。
世界遺産 1999年登録 日光の社寺 本殿・石の間及び拝殿の門。唐破風形。国宝 。
長年掛かっていた陽明門の改修工事も終えてピカピカに生まれ変わりとても素晴らしい門になっていました。以前は無かった「魔除けの逆柱」の標識も新たに設置されています。(2018年夏再訪) - Nao

日光東照宮陽明門内側右から2番目の柱の模様が他の柱と上下が逆になっている。建物は完成と同時に崩壊が始まる、という伝承を逆手に取り、わざと柱を逆にして未完成の状態にすることで災いを避ける、つまり魔除けの効果があるとされている。 - Nao
