Definitely a must if you're a fan of ramen . I was skeptical at first, but the broth is amazing. Make sure you try bother the signature tonkotsu & the black tonkotsu . It's not as scary as it looks!
I very rarely say any meal is worth the wait but if you get here on the earlier side of 12pm you should be able to get their black garlic ramen without having to queue like a chump.
Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen and one of the best bowls of it! Rich, milky , pork-bone broth and customizable firmness of noodles . They often get busy as soon as they open but lines tend to move quick.
Love the authenticity of the ramen here. Personally I enjoyed having the black tonkotsu and the god fire ramen . Those who prefer a lighter and mild soup base should try the signature tonkotsu .
I eat a lot of Ramen and their Ramen is great. Definitely worth the 20-30 minute wait in the queue. Black Tonkotsu & don’t forget to ask for Kae-Dama. I wish this place was open 24/7 like Shujinko.
If you miss Japan come here. One of the best bowls of ramen you can buy. Atmosphere is great as well . Felt like I was in Japan again. Very nice staff and really helped us out because we had to wait.
Don't kid yourself - this place is EPIC. Black Tonkutsu, with seaweed , egg and chashu + some spicy vege and red ginger gives you an actual slice of heaven in your bowl
Try the signature or black tonkotsu . Minced garlic and red ginger are good adds. Also don't be afraid to order your noodles harder than normal for that authentic Japanese toothsome-ness to the ramen .
As a Japanese, I think this is one of the good ramen in Melbourne . I usually stick to signature, never fail to add red ginger and pick pickles (if you are okay with spicy ones) A LOT.
Good ramen is dime a dozen but truly delectable ones are hard to come by. The black tonkatsu ramen is $15 well spent. Broth is soul food on a chilly nite.
Nice Hakata ramen with reasonable price in the city . Will definitely recommend this ramen shop if you are looking for Japanese ramen in CBD.
You'll like it if you are into creamy ramen . It was too buttery for me. Btw. "God fire" is really spicy - my tongue died with level 2!
Home to the original Hakata Ikkousha Tonkotsu Ramen ! Try the Signature Tonkotsu for the authentic taste of Fukuoka's Tonkotsu Ramen ! Delicious!!!
Definitely recommending the spicy pickles available on the tables! Spicier than the spiciest level of the god-fire ramen . Only for those who can take spiciness of course!
Great tasty ramen . Genuinely Japanese. Lots of discoveries on the table especially the spicy pickles (careful! they are really hot!) Kind of pricey if you add many toppings. Cash-only is a let down.
Ramen taste very authentic , the black tonkotsu has a special flavour to it that you don’t get every day.
Amazing ramen , amazing gyoza (a bit small maybe) and amazing fried chicken . Went for the classic tonkotsu broth. 10 out of 10!
One of the best bowls tonkostu Ramen in Melbourne ! Thick gelatinous broth and your choice of hand pulled ramen . This is the spot!
The spicy pickled on the table is good to add more spicy flavour for those who loves chilli :)
One of the best ramen places I've had in Melbourne. But be warned that its also a bit pricey for ramen and its cash only .
Real Hakata Ramen ! Only 4 options but you can tailor your bowl - the Karaage is not bad either.
Food is always great. However it's disappointed that staffs are never friendly with customer with kid !!! Definitely find another ramen place which is kid-friendly. :)
This was god fire spicy noodles level 13, which was not on the menu . Wasn't really spicy for me, but it was the maximum I could get :) won't recommend for all haha
Love the food! And I loved the way the whole staff day btw when you finish.
Though the noodle isn't as chewy, the broth is really rich and flavourful, highly recommend
Amazing ramen - the number 4 level spice is seriously scary, but try it anyway. Go for hard noodles for al dente
totally worth a little wait and it is authentic . good ramen
Very consistent performance . A safe choice for Hakata-ramen lover.
Best ramen in Melbourne ! Always has a line out the door so you know it's going to be good.
The 3 Ramens I've tried are all delicious. The God Fire is really spicy but I like spicy .
Best ramen and the way the staff all day when you leave.
Ate the black Tokotsu ramen . Not bad, but the flavoured egg is nowhere near what i had in Japan and in Singapore
Awesome ramen . It's walk up do be prepared to queue. The entire party must be present to get a table.
Hakata ramen never fail to disappoint in a cold weather. Chashu is quite thin sliced thou. So do get extra if you like to have more meat.
The ranens are pretty awesome and taste just like Japan.
signature tonkatsu , gyoza and karaage
I really like the black sesame paste ramen . Very yummy 👍🏼
Pretty good place if you're looking for authentic ramen . There's always a line out the door but service is quick.
It's average ramen at its best... but probably the best in Melbourne that I've come across...
Decent ramen , but don't know if it is worth queuing for.
I tried the black tonkotsu and it was ok. Brazilians: tastes like feijoada! I asked no meat but the sauce is made with pork , so vegetarians ...
Great ramen . Be prepared to wait in line . This place is in demand.
Amazing Ramen . Will be back for the Black Tonkotsu .
Food was tasty and as good a ramen dish as I’ve had.
I had the black tonkatsu ramen . Average ramen nothing special. I wasn’t too hungry but wanted to check this place out, may have affected review. Menu allows preferences. Noodles are thin like ichiran.
Karage chicken is a must!
Black pork bone soup ramen is nice. Good to serve with pickles that they supplies
Amazing! Best Ramen ever!
Great place, can't go past the signature Ramen
Come around 3pm on weekend to avoid the queue, thank me later.
The clue is in the name: the Ramen is incredibly good! Take the spice scale printed on the menu seriously.... - Mark Strathmore
