Clothespin Statue is a public art Philadelphia County Pennsylvania located in United States.
1500 Market St (at 15th St.) Philadelphia , PA 19102 United States
Its location is surprising, I almost missed it. Even with its larger than life size! The shadows that the building casts hide it away. I love to look everywhere in new places so I'm glad I saw it.
Huge transit hub serving thousands of commuters a day. Perfect meeting spot . Fantastic statue !
This clothespin has been compared to Constantin Brancusi 's "The Kiss," which shows two separate bodies joined in an embrace. See it?
Did you know this is where Ophella (The hooker) played by Jaime Lee Curtis helped the destitute Winthrope (played by Dan Akroyd) in the movie Trading Places?
Brancusi’s ‘The Kiss’ in the Philadelphia Museum of Art inspired Claes Oldenberg’s iconic ‘Clothespin’ at City Hall . Do you see the connection?
Interesting statue😊get your picture taken with it😊
The actual name is the kiss of the sculpture
You never really know what to expect around here, but its a good meeting spot
Don't try and take too many photos - they come out and tell you to go away!
