Sumo Japanese Steakhouse

We used a Groupon to try Sumo Steakhouse last month and liked it. Mon thru Wed is kids eat free so we went back and the food was even better. Well seasoned and tasty. The kids loved it.

This is my favorite place to eat in the whole city . I think their Teriyaki sauce recipe really pushes the menu over the top. Not to mention it's a really funny place with a great full bar

I had a groupon for this restaurant , and man oh man, I would've paid full price for this. It's the best hibachi place in town , with good hibachi cooks, great waiters , and a relaxed environment .

I had my birthday there yesterday, it was awesome. They were able to accommodate 20 of my closest friends. I've been to Benihana and Osaka, and this by far my favorite hibachi restaurant .

The food was excellent! Better than I expected, me and my girlfriend had great service from the waiter to the chef . If you want a funny and entertaining who can also cook, ask for Chef Vader.

First time, excelent experience! The wait was long, but definitely worth it. Recomendation, ask for Chef Big D (Diaz) execellent, if not perfect on flavor and show. Will return soon...

My daughter and I always have a great time. I get the adult steak and she gets the kids chicken . We like to go early because the whole dining experience last about 1.5 - 2 hrs

I've been to a lot of Japanese steakhouse is. This is by far the best Japanese steakhouse that we have ever eaten at. The fillet mignon and scallops were out of this world.

First time here. We were celebrating a birthday. The staff did a very nice job making it a special occasion . All meals were good and our table chief, Black Matt, did a great job.

We had dinner at sumo steakhouse last night and had a great time the food was great and our cook was very entertaining we plan to go back for my sons birthday.

Beautiful place love the way the chiefs cook in front of you best dinner ever I hope I can go back and have such good food I very much recommend this restaurant

Haven't tried dinner yet but the Happy hour is excellent with excellent fresh made sushi and drink specials . Very friendly service at the bar . We will return!

I enjoyed my experience upon arrival and all the way through dinner . I loved the filet and scallops and the sushi was top notch. Great show and service.

Ate here for dinner and had fillet mignon that was super. It was very tender. Our chef was funny and entertaining. They do have a pink yum-yum sauce but my meal was great.

Very inexpensive !! I got a small fillet luch special for $16 and the server hooked everyone up with a couple shrimp and some chicken in addition to their orders. Service was great and food was good

I took my fiancé to sumo for her birthday... I have been to MANY hibachi restaurants including Benihana etc. this is excellent food with a San Antonio feel to it.

Our server was always attentive My drink was never empty Our chef was funny, and our food was delicious The staff including the owner and general manager we're welcoming and personable!

Amazing food, when in front of the grill, ASK FOR CYNTHIA!!! I promise you won't be disappointed, she is hilarious & very entertaining, she'll make your experience worthwhile to say the least!! 

Sat in the bar area so we got to enjoy watching all the hibachi chefs in action. Bartender saw friendly and made a great drink.

Our daughter was scared of the fire, and we kept having to take her out. The manager had the bar make a smoothie for her for being "brave," and we thought that was really sweet.

It was a three hour experience and the family loved it! Staff , cook and other employees really took great care of us!

Moving here from Houston we have been looking for a Japanese steakhouse similar to Benihana 's, after our visit, I will say hands-down this was a fabulous experience.

Visited this location for dinner (with kids) on a Thursday. I definitely recommend making reservations rather than just walking in like we did.

I Really Love this place, the food is always great and the show, even when done by a new chef is so much fun.

Really good sushi . Vince is an excellent chef . He likes the white tuna (escolar), so watch out if have a sensitive stomach. Enjoy the happy hour specials !

NOTE: I am not a big sushi eater. This was one of my first times eating sushi . PROS: our waiter , Juan, was AWESOME. Ask for him. CONS: I was not impressed at all with the sushi . It was flavorless.

All the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Worst service ever! Over hour wait time, chef . Tommy sneezed couple times & he almost (I think he did) spit in fried rice while talking alot. The food was VERY expensive 4 the quality. Bad atmosphere
