Built in 247 BC, this Buddhist temple is one of the major tourist attractions in Shanghai. Entry fee of 50 RMB gets you a view of the 3 main halls and historical relics . Great for photos at night!
A must visit while in Shanghai. This temple sits among sky scrapers. Come and appreciate how the temple was built; wood work, marble , etc. impressively grand!
Beautiful buddhist temple in one of the nicer shopping areas of Shanghai. Though it was recently rebuilt and renovated, it’s architecture and history are still admirable!
Yes it is another temple like many others, but a nice place to calm down in this city . Visit also the back part not only what u see in first place;)
Nice temple surrounded by modern towers. Tickets available scanning QR code on the sidewalk before the gate and staff speaking English very helpful
Very beautiful and renovated temple in the middle of Shanghai. Not really interesting in a cultural way but a quick visit can be nice.(Check reviews, wechat: shanghai_hunter and facebook)
This massive temple is in constant use and an everyday part of life in Shanghai. Buy incense sticks from the vending machine if you have AliPay. If not, offer a local cash to purchase for you.

This temple is the most famous temple at Shanghai, connected with subway line 2. There are many high rise buildings around but the time stops at only this temple . Go to this temple and pray.
Jing’an temple has been transformed into a festive wonderland, with traditional colorful lanterns . Join with the local Chinese to pray for wellness and fortune in the Year of the Monkey.
Very close to the metro line . 50 yuan entrance fee . Calm atmosphere .You can finish seeing the place in 1 hour if it’s not crowded .
In the heart of a luxurious shopping district, the Jing'an temple is worth a few hours visit.
Large temple with many buddhas. There is a small fee to enter
One of the better areas of the city . Historic, shopping, restaurants and bars - plus it's right on line 2.
Roam in the epicenter of Shanghai, Jing' An Buddhist Temple originally built in 247 BC with assorted historical relics in a prosperity center of Shanghai.
Some foursquare usere said its free on Saturday's morning ... also some travel guides said its 10¥ ... but here I'm "on Tuesday" and its 50¥ per person...
Very pricey temple but worth the visit. Be sure to bring coins to toss
If you have the chance, go on a saturday morning and get thru locals to see a real temple working! And it's free!!
Very new architectures and even statues . Not good, they are like toys . Maybe only the bell which isn't used anymore and has many graffiti has some worth in this temple ..
Nice temple . Try throwing a coin into the tower.
Great experience since it was my first temple visit
Every day the monks that are living in the temple have a praying moment when they arrive in front of the temple
Go behind the big Buddha statue to see the tableaus. Also: it's 50 元 now.
Nice peaceful place ,for tourists should be interesting ! 50 rmb entrance fee
At the gate there are few ayis who want to engage every foreigner to Buddhism.
50rmb entrance fee and you have to get your ticket punched. Still amazing, but currently (June 3, 2014) undergoing renovations.
A temple is a place of religion. Not a place where you should charge tickets for entry.
Contrast of the buddist temple and skyscrapes is really astonishing!
Beautiful architecture & another famous historic sites in Shanghai
On Spring festival (Lunar 1st) & Lantern festival (Lunar 15th) the entrance fee hikes to be a whooping 200 RMB. The religious facility dishonor itself and unenlightened 'believers' as making a profit.
50RMB to get in but worth it as there's plenty to see
Very good, have to visit every time I’ll arrive in Shang
Beautiful, large temple .
Looks alright, not sure how I feel about the ¥50 fee.
Walking by for my meeting! Feels great outside
Looks super cool at night with its lights lit up! ⚡
Now entrance fee is 50¥ what is too expensive . Nothing to see there.
Admission to masterpiece like Notre Dame or Florence Duomo is free. Willing to pay 50 RMB at the religious venue only insults those ungodly worshiper & reveals the corrupted value in the entire system
Great place to grab a bus or the metro line #2 and others
Awesome place! Lots of shops to see around
Chinese New Year celebration!! Best way to start a new yeAr!!!
So beautiful! So quiet !
Charge 50Yuan entrance fee now! Such a rip off!!
Amazing ????
Beautiful.

thank you for your time!
Lots of Japanese tidbits available in the supermarket at basement .

The shining golden peak of the pagoda has been shown up in May, and it will be the only traditional Chinese-style pagoda in the city of Shanghai. - Jeremy Shih
