I was afraid that I was stuck in a sea of pilsners and other varieties limited by Reinheitsgebot. HERMAN turned out to be an oasis for a beer fanatic. A good selection of sour and barrel aged beers !

Beautiful bar , surprisingly modern interior . Fantastic choice of beers , incl the famous Palm, Duvel, Hoegaarden, Leffe, La Chouffe, Westmalle Tripel and many, many more. Really good prices as well !

Bart is a very welcoming owner and beer afficionado. Stellar selection (probably largest in Berlin) of Belgian beers . Good talks too.

Great place owned by a very friendly Belgian guy called Bart who loves telling the story about Herman whose photo is on the menu. Ask him ;-) and ask why the bar has no surname.

The bar is very tripple-, dubbel- and football friendly . Fun chats with the owner guaranteed, and the selection is very solid. 4 numbers on tap , and their house brew is something to not overlook.

This is my regular place in Berlin, the people are very diverse (ossies, expats, tourists ) and very open for conversation. Love how Bart created a place for strangers to meet.

Bart, the owner of the bar , is a great person to chat with. Apparently he named the place after his late German teacher from school back home in Belgium. Herman's portrait is on the menu cover.

Friendly setting, maybe not the best place for me since I don’t like beer , the wine selection is very poor. But I can still appreciate the atmosphere and it’s a great place to chill with friends
