Wat Maha That

Interesting ruins and the tree that had grown around the Buddha head provides ample photo opportunities . Remember this is a religious site so be respectful of the place you are in.

This is where you can view the iconic Buddha head in tree roots . Entrance runs 50 Baht, but you can get a pass that covers the 6 main temples for 220 Baht (recommended as each temple has the 50B fee).

Entry 50thb for foreigners and 10 thb for thai people. Get an audio guide is a good advise as it helps a lot understanding about the place all along the walk in the ruins of this historical place.

Must visit place in Ayutthaya, as this is where you'll find the Buddha head in the tree . Come early: you'll beat the heat, and the throngs of noisy tourists posing for a selfie.

Known for the "Buddha image on Bodhi tree ", this is one of the most magical temple of all Ayutthaya. Try to go there early to avoid the crowd.

Admission fee for Thai people is free but 50 baht for foreigner. Stunning sceneries , Bhudha face in the tree roots , Ubosot, Prang, Chedi.

50 baht/ person for the entrance ticket. It's famous for the face of a stone Buddha peeking out from among the roots at the base of a tree .

องค์พระศรีรัตนมหาธาตุสร้างปีพ.ศ.1917 ในรัชสมัยสมเด็จพระบรม ราชาธิราชที่1 แต่ไม่แล้วเสร็จ สมเด็จพระราเมศวร สร้างต่อจนเสร็จสมบูรณ์ พระปรางค์ได้พังทลายลง2ครั้ง จนมีสภาพดังที่เห็นในปัจจุบัน

วัดมหาธาตุ เป็นวัด ที่มีความสำคัญในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา เป็นวัด ที่ประดิษฐานพระบรมธาตุ ใจกลางพระนคร และยังเป็นที่พำนักของ สมเด็จพระสังฆราช ฝ่ายคามวาสี วัด ได้รับการดูแล จนถูกทำลายลงหลังเสียกรุงครั้งที่ 2

เมื่อคราวเสียกรุงครั้งที่ ๒ วัดมหาธาตุถูกไฟไหม้เสียหายเป็นอันมากและถูกทิ้งร้างเรื่อยมา จนถึงรัชกาลที่ ๖ แห่งกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์พระปรางค์องค์ใหญ่ได้พังลงมาอีกครั้งหนึ่งดังที่เห็นในปัจจุบัน

ต่อมาในสมัยสมเด็จพระเจ้าทรงธรรม พระปรางค์องค์ใหญ่ซึ่งเป็นที่บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุได้พังลงมา ในสมัยสมเด็จพระเจ้าปราสาททองจึงได้รับการซ่อมแซม

Très belles ruines retraçant l'histoire de la ville avec les différentes guerres. Se visite très bien en famille. Un must pour la ville .

歴史を感じる場所。木の根の間に仏像の頭があるのが有名だが、敷地内の寺院 も素晴らしい。

食べ物＆飲み物が安い 。でも、油断すると一度開けたアトのあるペットボトルを渡されることもある。ご愛嬌ってところかな?

Нууу, на любителей. Спускаться в ступу Ват Махатхат смотреть на фрески не стоит-ничего уже не разобрать, только душно, тесно и пыльно.
