設計上も市政会館と一体になっているのだが、日比谷公会堂側から見ると市政会館の時計塔が隠れて、別個の建物のように見える。昭和 30 年代までは、東京唯一のコンサートホール だった。
【東京都選定歴史的建造物】として指定を受けたのは「市政会館・日比谷公会堂」です。わが国最初の公会堂として昭和4年(1929)に建築 されました。
