Sawnee Mountain Preserve

This is a beautiful, well maintained preserve with trails that are marked. From the Spot Road entrance (Welcome Center) it is 2 miles up to the Indian Seats and Observation Deck.

Moderately easy 3.2 trail loop with great views of North Georgia mountains . Best seat in the house is the Indian Seats . Plan to hike and picnic afterward

For a good workout follow the trail left from the Bettis-Tribble Gap Rd. parking lot and do a big loop (Bettis parking lot --> nature center --> indian seats --> Bettis parking lot ).

From Indian Seats , you can see many far off destinations on a clear day. I'm going to make it s point to visit all that I see. It's all within a couple of hours drive.

About 4 miles all the way around the mountain . Great view of the Blue Ridge mountains from the Indian Seat .
