A great Youngs pub that hasn't changed much in the 30+ years I've been coming here! Good beer from Wells & Youngs plus regular guest beers .
Dickens' drinking establishment of choice. The former residence needs nothing more to cement its literary heritage, but was also one of the original meeting places for the Bloomsbury Publishing Group.
Sunday night pub quiz is a good one, be sure to book to make sure you get a table.
Great pub . If you're thinking of booking somewhere for your own event there's a nice upstairs room with a private bar .
go for the young's double chocolate stout . a fine english pub but it wouldn't be in my top 5 list in london. "the princess" near holborn is beyond comparison.
DNA 'new world' (red) IPA a welcome and surprise find in a Youngs pub , great old world feel and top-notch service
One of my fav old school london boozers . It has a snug! ????
Lovely quiet Youngs pub . Always feel at home here. Winter Warmer well kept.
Proper traditional English pub - right in the centre of London!
Quirky olde worlde pub with good ale . Worth a stop in!
If you live north of Watford you will balk at a pint costing £4.30 for average ale
Nice little pub with mulled cider :)
Lovely old pub selling good ales .
Diabolical way too busy, people in suits pissed up and shouting and shoving past at every turn, food was ok, beer us ok, won’t be back.
It’s a yes from me! One of those small time-travelling places.
The pies are great. The Carignan red is drinkable, and the Tribute ale is mild and mannered. It's a Young's pub , with all the specialty bottles.
There is a lovely little courtyard out back, perfect for long summer days.
Fun trivia on Sunday nights. ????
Impress your friends by telling them the Bloomsbury set including Virginia Woolf used to drink here.
Proper old-fashioned London pub . Decent ale , food OK if a tad pricey . Lovely décor. Read more
... Real beer , real pub .
One stall in the ladies :-/
Try Chocolate Beer ☝
Cool pub , youngs owned
Cute garden beer !
Classic 187 year old boozer ...
Sausage & Mash was fairly average (3pm on a Sunday, maybe they were concentrating roasts).
Great traditional pub with good memories. But the beer 's a bit steep!
Old fashioned .
Play the polyphone
Such slow service if you aren't right at the front of the bar .
Good luck trying to get a Sunday roast . There was an unspecified wait of 'about half an hour' for ours, so we didn't bother. Good business tip: plan ahead for when customers might try to eat.
Lovely pub with very large beer selection, including a gluten-free pale ale. - Pete Marcus
Friendly staff, delicious takes on classic pub food, great location brewed pints. - Gina
Massive, really old and ornate Sam Smith's pub. Lots of wood, tremendous atmosphere. Well worth a visit. - Sam M
Viggo Mortonsen & Bernard Hill were eating with friends at a table near us! Simple Italian food and good value. - Karen Conway
Great selection of wines, great place to sit and while away time with friends. Menu is simple and most choices are decent. - Parth Awasthi
Special old-fashioned place with a good mix of locals. Upstairs room for hire is the perfect size for gatherings of about 40. - Londonist
